No be has said he is solely to blame, just that there are question marks over his performances like others , so questioning whether he should have the captaincy. He is better the most of the defenders but he's still a disappointment and is easy to see why he hasn't made the CB berth his own over the last 2 seasons.
The fact is there isn't a standout candidate for the captaincy
This is what makes me think we should just give it to one of the youngsters, like Clarke/Cameron/Thomas. Give it to them on an interim basis and make it known (as he has done) that once one of the senior players steps up to the plate, they will be given the honour.
Or play rock, paper, scissors.
