Wood seems the obvious choice if only for an example of commitment, having broken his face around five times so far this season.

Wood is the wrong choice in my opinion.

Yep, great for his spirit and determination, but for me he shouldn't even be in the team.

I quite like him but he's slow, ponderous, gives many goals away, is not comfortable on the ball, is turned too easily and is not suited to the tactic we deploy of building from the back and playing the ball out of defence.

Besides that he earns too much apparently and we could really do with selling him to free up much needed wages.

Personally there is no one in that club I would give it to at present.

We are missing a really nasty bastard in the middle of the park, in the style of Michael Brown or Dennis Wise, someone who will go in hard after 2 minutes just to send a little message. I can't see one leader in our squad, they are all a bunch of puffs.

I totally agree.

And today there is a post on GMK by Knowl, the moderator/site administrator there who says:

'Every season up until Juke being sold, there was always one player I actually liked watching.

Now? I really couldn't give a fuck if they were all sold and replaced.

There is not 1 player who I either love nor hate, they are all meh.
'

Pretty much agree with that. Not one player who inspires or excites. McGoldrick comes about the nearest, but then he's not ours is he!

I think the role is over-hyped but I guess Murphy is the only option.

Probably right.

Baker is far too hit and miss and Wood makes far too many mistakes for my liking.

What sad times we live in. Hardly a bright spark to be seen in the whole squad at the moment.

can see it being given to murphy..senior player,,always vocal anyway,,

on a seperate note did anyone else notice him have a go at goldie during one of the corners on tuesday night ( i think wood pulled mcgoldrick away to calm it down)

Murphy would be a good choice, though Cameron could be a captain although he has his own game to look after first!

If we are serious about Conor Thomas maybe the captains armband could be a great opportune for him. Maybe not this year but in a few...

Howson was 18 and captain of Leeds, think Conor could do it! Cameron could as well but we need them to take that step! We have missed Conor so far this season thanks to Deegan!

Why make Murphy captain when hé allready shouts his mouth off. Give it to someone else WHO can tell him to shut it and we will soon get a bit of fight about the team

i find the slagging off of Wood strange . he s strong ,solid and dependable. He s not Bobby Moore, Beckenbaur etc but he s a good League 1 centre back.
He s been the fault for many goals this season, rubbish, u can nt have actually been to the games |||

To be fair he has been responsible for a number of goals we've conceded this season, and he's been far from dependable this season, in fact he's been one of the biggest disappointments.

Errm........ 'He s been the fault for many goals this season, rubbish' you said.

Did I mention this season? 'Gives many goals away' is what I said.

I think you need to stand corrected.

Besides, I would say he has been at least partly responsible for about 3 at least anyway this campaign.

HE was last season and has been this season ,major dissapointment to me ,I thought he really had something when we signed him .He's been mismanaged for the majority of his time here so its no surprise his fires gone out .He has been throwing himself at everything ,but is error prone and unfortunately not strong enough in physique ,and the football might as well be a burning lump of coal.

A player gives many goals away.

Why would that only refer to this season? I'm confused. I wasn't talking about last season either. Just in general.

So, if I say Baker is a poor player does that mean I am only referring to this campaign?

Murphy is poor on crosses? Just this season would that be?

Hussey is not very good at tackling? Just this season again?

Surely if I meant this season I would say this season wouldn't I?

I'd give the arm band to Nathan Cameron.
Though the fact that there isn't a clear choice for it suggests that we lack that type of player in our squad.

Cameron wouldn't be a bad call.

well i have to agree you re confused.

I also agree Baker is poor I ve stated that this season and last last season he s had one half good game since we ve signed him.

Murphy is average at best . Hussey is not a full back, never will be.

But to suggest that you were talking about Wood overall is well laughable . Love to read posts about previous Woods " fault over goals" in other seasons from you

You are trying to squirm away from what you incorrectly said I notice.

If I had meant this season I would have said this season. Wood gives many goals away. It's part of his make-up in my opinion.

That goes for all seasons since he's been here.

You simply mis-quoted me. Just accept that and move on.
