I think so, but I also think we’re lacking cock and balls generally, on and off the pitch, compared to last season.

I said recently and still kind of think it, we’re too nice to get promotion over the line. King actually does seem ruthless enough but hasn’t got anything like the footballing knowledge.

The concern for me is the two away performances and I think it's a mistake to play two wide men away from home when we are already weak in midfield.
Sakamoto is rarely effective away from the CBS. Fill up the midfield instead.

It’s not just 2 games though…the back end of last season was shit too and we’ve spent more money and don’t look any more dangerous

the FA cup run just covered the cracks over last season

I just see the manager paying way too much respect to opponents. Hopefully it’s just the players needing to be more confident playing how he wants as opposed to them carrying out his instructions.

When one of your central midfielders has a 59% pass completion rate your issues are nothing to do with the manager paying opponents too much respect.

Which is a good thing. We’ve spent a bunch of money, have an ambitious owner and manager. Naturally expectations will go up. Have to aim high now, but try to be grounded at the same time. Most of us are not pleased with the performance levels. I wonder if the players had very tough training sessions last week because they looked very leggy and lethargic the entire match on Saturday.

It does and it doesn’t. The player himself needs to improve but slow tempo football under a press is going to lead to possession being given away more often than not.

But under the same conditions our two other central players has pass completion rates in the 80s.
We simply can't afford to carry a central midfielder who is that wasteful. Whether he's been played in the wrong position/formation is open for debate

Well, we need said midfielder to get better. The team as a whole though need to learn how to play out from the back with one or two touch passing and more active movement off the ball.

There's 3 ways of getting the ball up the pitch at pace and that's one of them.

They're better drilled at winning the ball back, something in the design of our play that seems be amiss to me?

It's all too slow and passive.

Opponents suss it quickly and press forward pushing us deeper and deeper and we're easy to pass through.

We lose possession or give the ball away cheaply and rarely work sufficiently hard enough to win it back.

So yes we're only 4 games into the new season but all the above have been a feature of our game for a considerable time.

Ask yourself what is our style of play because I have absolutely no idea but then I'm just an alcohol fuelled effing balloon that posts bizarreness.

Devils avocado here: if you’re a midfielder who want to play forwards and the team is set up so deep every pass has to be inch perfect because the gap is so huge then maybe it is the managers fault.

I can accept that to a point but again, the other 2 midfielders still performed far better in the same set up, 59 percent is really poor.
If we dont recruit another midfielder we've really screwed up.
Granted we've got Sheaf to come back but I'll be surprise if he doesn't miss at least another 6 to 8 games throughout the season with injury

Ive no idea if there is, but even so, he's stats are still poor and I'm sure I read Eccles created more chances but I don't know if it's true.

Torp played 4 passes into the final third, Eccles played 9. Eccles created 1 chance, Torp created 0.
