It's obvious that King doesn’t take advice from randoms on the internet. But he doesn’t exist in a vacuum either, and if the tub-thumping about sacking Robins wasn’t intended to create an atmosphere around the club or have the slightest influence on anyone, why do it? I’ll bet the strength of feeling about his decision has taken King aback a bit, because people who wanted Robins to stay weren’t banging on about it all the time.

Anyway, whilst the treatment of Robins has been very poor, I think the talk of grief is way over the top. I will be supporting the next manager like I always do. We don’t know whether King has got this right, but I sure hope he has. FWIW the appointment of Lampard would give me an injection of that hope, which is what football fans live on.

Obviously its something we will just have to disagree on. I just think that even at the executive level, the decision makers are human beings who are trying to make decisions based on all the information available to them.

Then we will agree to disagree.

CEOs are in my experience more in danger of reading one or two customer reviews and going mental than staff closer to the coal face.

Don't think you're going to have much luck telling players of the current generation to stay off the internet and social media

We will never get an answer to this but I'd love to know. I can't really remember a manager sacking that has been so universally condemned.

Mangers, players, pundits, journalists, even supporters of other clubs, all queueing up to say the owner is clueless and Robins shouldn't have been sacked.

It appears King likes the spotlight, he certainly seems to enjoy having his song sung, puts himself in promo videos, puts himself in the team photo, is on local and national media at any opportunity. Would love to know how he felt when the travelling fans were chanting 'Doug King is a wanker' yesterday.

Even his brother who couldn't go 5 minutes without tweeting about us has gone silent.

But the universe didn't watch us lose to poor sides like Norwich , Swansea,
Sheff Weds , Derby at Home.... Since when did pundits, journalists other supporters give a fk about us. Not interested in what they think.

Social media ban: Australia plans to ban socials for children under 16

Politicians in Australia's parliament will vote on the law next week and, if passed, it aims to stop children being allowed social media accounts. But for some kids there will be ways around it.

Got the Sheff Utd Sheff Wed game on, Wilder club legend 2nd spell as manager. Never say never but Robins maybe back one day in some role or other. Never say never, he might realise after a month that he actually needed a break

Why was he sacked now and not then?

Grendel is an attention seeking one off moron ignored by most. A figure of derision and clueless on football. Proved by demand to sack one of our most successful managers for about 4 years.
This time round it was different the polls were appearing after every result - and the usual hysteria after a defeat was being ramped up. You by the way are one of the prime candidates for hysterics.
Many factors in the decision to let Robins go - at a minimum destabilizing the manager and the club at every opportunity on a fans site - simply not helpful and damaging.

I don't agree with the 95% - fine margins in this division.
I guess you can't see how the tone on these sites play a marginal role in the relationship between the team and the fans and energy around the team. Every boss is going to look at all factors in making such a material decision including the reaction of the fans.
Do you agree with the sacking?

Not so sure about that. A couple of canny additions in January, and who knows?
As an aside, when I read through my post before sending it off, I noticed I'd typed fanny instead of canny - changed it as it seems we've got enough of those.

We definitely weren’t. We’ve only been really outplayed once, and if you threw the dice again in all those tight games we might easily have been close to the playoffs.

This is the main fans forum, and I’m surprised you don’t think it has any influence on the atmosphere around the club. At recent events former players have expressed dismay about the effect of online negativity. Multiple strongly worded calls for Robins to be sacked cannot possibly have done anything but damage, surely it’s only a question of how much?

Anyway although this feels like a big gamble by King, I’ll be behind the new coach whoever they are.

You always bring such balance BSB

Apart from Leeds who played us off the park, we haven't lost by more than the odd goal. And it's nearly always been individual errors, questionable decisions, simple bad luck. Yes there have been some very poor halves, but for me only at Leeds were we outplayed throughout. It’s not a Mickey Mouse league where teams roll over, they press you and they defend with discipline, and we haven’t always been able to find a way around that.

But whenever a tight game goes against us every player's rating is slashed by 2 or 3 points, the manager has lost the dressing room, the players aren’t trying, they are League 1 standard, we’re in a relegation scrap, nobody’s got a clue what the tactics are, the coaches can’t coach, we’ve pissed millions up the wall, had our pants down, fallen off a cliff, training ground unrest, they've gone on strike, bad attitudes, iPads and tracksuits blah blah. All this nonsense destroys confidence around the place, which is the opposite of support. Not talking about you btw...
