With a heavy heart but I’m sorry but that’s enough.

Robins been brilliant for our rise through the lower leagues but this is a step too far from him now. It’s sad to seem him struggle like this with the so called most expensive squad ever.

He clearly can’t get this squad to get results. Tactically he’s all over the place and yes some players need to step up, but it’s up to the manager to motivate them. They’re not listening to him and that is a huge warning.

People don’t want to include last season but the reality is apart from that FA cup run the 2nd half of last season was average. Our play off season was built on 2 superstar players in Vik and Gus with the crux of an old school type of squad.

Our home form and CBS was meant to be our fortress. Now teams can come here for an easy 3 points.

Mark’s interview just now is repetition of other poor performances. He can’t say we’re a good team if we keep losing like this. He’s making bizarre team selections especially at the back. Kitching and Wilson for example shouldn’t be anywhere near the team. In the end he threw them all under the bus anyway.

Maybe these players aren’t as good as we thought they would be but they should be collectively doing better.

Buck stops with him, he’s too stubborn to change things with formation or go change it up positively. We are so predictable opposition mangers must be laughing. There’s a danger this turns into a horrendous season. We should be improving game on game, not getting worse.

Time for a change in my opinion and this isn’t for people to have a go at each other, but we won’t see the next step change on the pitch without a fresher, more tactically astute manager.

As has been said previously and laughed at plenty:

The club will be using forums like this to gauge fan opinion. Posts like the above would have contributed to the decision to sack MR in a small way.

If this was the case we’d have ended up playing Dabo at centre mid, we’d have done away with all the data analysis stuff and Doug King will have now employed armed security to patrol his house.

I don’t want to take this away from you though if that’s what you believe.

I definitely agree that Jack Rudoni googles his own name at least three times per day so he’s defo seen a few posts on here.

When we say its nonsense are we saying that:

A) Nobody from the club looks at the forum at all, so it can't have any impact

Or

B) Staff within the club do look on here but completely disregard everything they read

I’m I happy? No not really. Robins hit a ceiling in my opinion and it’s a shame because he’s been such a great manager for us. I don’t think he has the tactical nous to get us to the Premiership. Got nothing but respect for Mark but I do think we need someone else who can push us to the required level because as yesterday showed we don’t have shit players. They can perform. But they need a leader who can make the right calls.

That is very, very different to Doug King looking on here, seeing a few Robins out posts and going ‘yep, that makes sense, I’ll sack him tomorrow’.

Especially when the endless polls on this topic showed a huge majority opposed to sacking him.

So they are saying that despite a series of polls where about 90% of the forum opposed sacking the manager, they saw some critical posts and decided to sack him anyway?

It makes no sense.

There you go again- you can post detailed & eloquent analyses of overseas elections & political issues, but then have trouble reading what someone actually said & end up twisting their words. Just leave it there really.

Don't think anybody has ever claimed this?

But clearly part of the decision will be made on prevailing fan opinion, and looking on forums is the easiest way to gague that - why would you hold endless focus groups where people are biased when you can see their honest opinions with little to no effort?

I agree with both you and Grendel that the polls are the most powerful tool and were clearly 'Robins in', but endless threads and posts after every loss saying MR out must have had a subtle impact of the thought process of those making the decision.

Its not a huge claim to be making - you you seem to think that what is posted on the internet has LITERALLY no impact on the real world?

There were three polls put on here asking if MR should be sacked. In all of them, the vast majority said ‘no’. So why, if the club is looking on here seeking to gauge opinion, would it look on those and think it has supporter backing to get rid?

Managers are not sacked based on some people grumbling on an internet forum. Grendel released his annual ‘sack Robins’ thread last year at a similar time, and there were a few others supporting him then too.

Why was he sacked now and not then?

…and if it did, you’d look at the polls, see 90% support the manager and treat the dissenting opinion as a very small minority.

I would not have sacked Robins given the choice.
But that's it me & you lot have no choice in the matter. Now King has called it I'm getting behind him and his decision. These "people" come and go players ,coaches, managers ,owners. The only thing that remains are our supporters and that Sky Blue shirt. The only thing I have ever cared for in football & supported is that shirt.
Can't wait to support it again versus O'Hare & Hamer.

I agree the poll is the best thing to look at, we who use the forum most days know that.

Infact I was pleasantly surprised to see the 90% result considering half the posts on here seemed to be Robins out.

Someone could come on the forum for a glance and think 'ah, maybe the support aren't as behind Robins as it appears to me from my stadium box'. These opinions could be formed prior to the poll even being posted, or maybe they missed the poll - maybe they didn't. Point is what you say on the internet DOES have an influence of people's thoughts.

Exactly how I feel. Grateful for everything Robins has done, deserves a statue or a stand named after him. There’s been so much talk on here from numerous posters about his in-game management being questionable. We’d all feel better if he’d have left on his own accord and any manager we bring in is a risk after the stability we’ve had. If we’d had an owner with a history of owning a football club, I don’t think we’d be questioning it as much.

I can accept that players and other staff might look on here or other social media, see negative comments about them and be affected by them. My advice to them would be not to go looking after a bad result because you will invariably find reactionary comments you won't want to see.

I cannot accept that an executive decision about sacking a long term manager would be influenced by some posts made by ordinary fans. And if you came on here for a glance, you'd see multiple polls on the manager's future being conducted with a huge majority supporting him. You'd also look at what's happening at away games where still nobody was chanting for the manager's head, most still sang his name.

Doesn't have the tactical nous?

What, to have practiced penalties? That's all we were away from being top flight. Arguably lots of reasons that might not be replicated, but to say it's his ceiling and he couldn't get beyond it is clearly nonsense.

Thats fair

Obviously its something we will just have to disagree on. I just think that even at the executive level, the decision makers are human beings who are trying to make decisions based on all the information available to them.
