It’s based off a formula regarding how much money goes on each club so if someone dumped a million on a club to get relegated the odds would be slashed

Isn't that what the bloke below is meant to be doing?

That's only a very small aspect of it.

The odds are set by analysts and statisticians and programs.

Wonder if his focus on on the club commercial matters as opposed to the playing side.

Not too much, result was neither here or there really, my bigger concern was the total lack of performance, especially first half.

A point at home against a Sheffield Wednesday side who’d picked up 1 point in their previous 4 away games and barely scored a goal would have also been a bad result. They are not a good side, despite us somehow making them look like one.

Anyone saying ‘Robins Out’ when he is going through such a difficult time personally needs to give their head a wobble.

Whilst we have no right to know about his personal problems, a lot can be solved by sharing some of this with fans. We’re not the enemy.

And not to sound unkind, but people are not absolved from delivering in their role despite personal issues. My managers would give me all the support I need to get through it but i wouldn't be allowed to get away with failing to deliver the objectives set for me.

To be fair if it was last year assume Adi would have taken over. Who knows what A mark is going on personally and B what offers of support the club has made. In all honesty if Saddles right it must be horrible for him right now but there’s not much more we can do without him going on a leave of absence which knowing Mark he wouldn’t do with it how it is at the moment.

Exactly that.

If there is something, the club should just put out a press release. Doesn’t need to go into details. Just something like “Our manager is currently dealing with some personal issues, we’re supporting him as much as we can”

The fans would instantly rally around him

I suppose it's the nature of the job that they try to work through it but I personally think it's a mistake to not take time away if you aren't able to focus 100% on your work.

If this is a factor in Robins being off form the club need to step in and help out. I'm sure he can still contribute without being thrust in the limelight so much for a few weeks.

Everyone is different though. I just carried on when my brother died and then again when my mum died and we were so very close, her and I.

My brother's wife died just 3 months ago and it completely broke him.

Only now is he starting to come to terms with it.

We all process things differently.

The biggest issue for me and it's been going on for several seasons now is that we can't defend.

The amount of silly goals we concede is unbelievable imho.

Why hasn't this been addressed?

Yeah, we thought it was going to be and I think we were expecting Thomas and Kitching to be better this year, being more settled.

Thought Binks was going to improve things too.

Far too many mistakes happening though, that lead to goals.

I’m saying from the point of your contract. I did have longer but I had to take holiday. I don’t think it’s actually a legal entitlement at all and certainly wouldn’t be more than 5 days unless unpaid

Yeah, I see.

I remember working at one place and they wouldn't even let me go to my grandma's funeral.

I was happy to take it as holiday, but they still said no.

Why do they? It's their opinion - people don't know what's going on in his personal life so they can only go on what they're seeing on the pitch

Bastards. As far as I’m aware though it’s up to your workplace, apart from next of kin. When my grandmother died my job at the time offered me 5 days off which was decent but I just took a couple…they gave me more off for the funeral as well.

Those that think we're in a relegation battle can get good odds on that. The bookies have 15 teams more likely to be relegated than us.

Out of interest, how many teams do the bookies have more likely than us to be promoted?

My opinion beforehand was these two games had to be 4 points minimum. That was missed, admittedly by a small margin.

What is more concerning though is the performance. They did it against Blackburn but then put in lacklustre display on Saturday. They know Robins isn’t in a great position and still can’t perform for him

I think even 3pts would have been "acceptable" to most fans had it been the other way round..... losing in injury time to 3rd place Blackburn, then beating an average Sheff Weds, would've been about par for the course.

There's no legal entitlement for compassionate leave at all other than for the death of a child under 18 and that's comparatively recent. It's up to your company's discretion - or compassion

-10 on those games is an absolute calamity. It's not even a particularly hard set of fixtures.
