Sentimental? Thanks for the last 7 years, but this is a results game, not what's he's done in the past.

And they appointed plenty of serial winners too .. but part of the reason why man utd were so successful under ferguson besides him being a great manager was it was basically his club at footballing level and he ran the show

You get the feeling that's been taken from robins a bit

Genuine question, what save did he make that you wouldn’t expect your mate from 5 a side on a Tuesday night might make? I’m so bored of hearing of the “good saves” he makes when they’re fucking straight at him

not sure they all were, but what I actually said was that if he hadn’t made the saves we would’ve been far worse off - so he didn’t actually play as bad as some of the others on the pitch

Dovin probably would’ve made the saves too, but you can’t say he was the worst player

Ah okay so the argument is, If we had someone who was blind or had no arms in goal we’d have conceded more, I agree with that

Did he though? 2 of the goals he should probably have stopped.

I wouldn't say his fault though.

That’s not really the point though. We could have had Haaland up top and we’re not winning, we’d still choose him. Just a mental decision

This is a bad start, even for us who seem to start poorly every year. We have no clear tactics, players looks unmotivated (and tired), there appears to be in fighting and, despite spending a good amount the last two years, our squad is lob sided.

Biggest concern in all of it; is how absolutely clueless we look.

However, we’ve been here before with MR. Literally last season, new signings were being questioned, tactics were rubbish and the world was ending.

MR has a new squad to embed, has lost his inner circle/leaders, both on and off the pitch, and for the first time with us, has some serious expectations on him.

Longest serving players are now Wilson, Sheaf, Eccles and Bidwell - two of which he reportedly tried to move on. Coupled with a whole new coaching set up, and I’m sure MR is feeling pretty lonely right now.

Let’s give him some time. It’s tempting to push for MR Out considering how horrendous we’ve been most games, but he’s turned it round before and he deserves time to do so again.

It’s no surprise to see the usual immature attention seekers losing the plot either. I wonder how some people cope when actual important things in life get tough.

Pretentious bullshit. We have not performed well in the league since we beat Leeds at the Ricoh. Robins has done many wonderful things but nothing lasts forever. He is not a bad manager but it is time for a new way forward.

not sure what the problem is,maybe player egos, looks like we’ve got a few players who maybe aren’t used to being on the bench, think they should be starting every week, wright came here as the star signing number 9, been pushed out wide and now on the bench, simms being dropped for a 19 year old kid, bit of competition can be a good thing but can go the other way, just doesn’t seem like a robins team, no balance no fight ?

Why do we start so poorly? 3 years running now. The pitch got the blame 3 years ago and the change in players last season.

Is there a bigger issue?

Mid November we were 20th with 3 wins from 16.

It seems like it’s the case of teams knowing exactly how we’ll setup but Robins either being unwilling or doesn’t know how to change it.

We can’t beat a press and end up playing stupid passes out of panic and giving it away.
Almost our entire build up play consists of playing it to the full backs, a 1-2 with the winger and then a cross into the box. It can’t be hard for other managers to know what we’ll do.

After 10 minutes I could see their left hand side was given free reign! BTA was not covering and should have been told or bought SAKA on. When Robbins said they don't listen to him in his interview I think this was prime reason for that statement. I don't like BTA starting games and should be used as an impact sub, The baggies never started him as far as I can remember. If we had blocked up that channel they would never have scored at least one of their goals

My memory v your memory, but I think they always started him v us and I was always glad when they subbed him off.

Had a bit of a look last week after the Swansea game and I’d be going for Eirik Horneland. Currently manages Brann in Norway, took them from division 2 to 2nd in the top division in 3 years. Plays the same type of formation we like to play but far better ball retention and very aggressive press. Think it could suit our squad reasonably well.

Another note from his tactical breakdown is that, when pressing high, the 2 wingers press the centre backs, the striker drops into midfield and 2 of the 3 centre mids push wide to cover the full backs. Makes the high press much more effective as you’re going man-for-man.

Last season, about 40 goals from Wright and Simms..last season Robin's did the same early on.
When he figured it out, at QPR away, we win. Last yr, Wright left, Simms CF, Saka right. Saka not mentally right after injury. Wright left, Simms and Basette up front, Asanti (12 last year) on the right. Go for it, stop worrying about them, let them worry about us

Ferguson retired as he knew he had taken United as far as he could. Stayed at the club as a director and club ambassador. Hired his mate David Moyes and the rest is history. Been rubbish since.
Who would I replace Robins with? Not my job, but someone who know the football season starts in August, not November.
Personally I would like a young promising manager. Edin Terzic is available, but unrealistic, so someone like Robbie Keane. Another option could be David Wagner.
