After 10 minutes I could see their left hand side was given free reign! BTA was not covering and should have been told or bought SAKA on. When Robbins said they don't listen to him in his interview I think this was prime reason for that statement. I don't like BTA starting games and should be used as an impact sub, The baggies never started him as far as I can remember. If we had blocked up that channel they would never have scored at least one of their goals

It's not BTA's game. It is not Wright's game either which makes us very weak down the flanks. We might be able to get away with it with a solid, flat three in midfield but...

Be great to start picking up form in march, might save us from the drop.

Think when EMC settles and Sakamoto is fully fit we won't see the same

Really conflicted with Robins this season the slow starts feel like groundhog day even though in other seasons there were good reasons. I have no doubt our form will pick up but will that make us the nearly men again...

At this point I think he’s probably lost most of the dressing room to be honest. We look nothing like the team that beat Everton.

You say that, a good number of these players need a serious look at themselves.

I don’t disagree, they’re way too passive. I said it at the time but not signing Browne was a big mistake.

Bring frank I think our pre season was average. We normally play more games against lower league opposition and instead we had games against Roma scheduled midweek before the season started. Yes it was cancelled but someone scheduled that game initially and pencilled it in as a good idea.

Transfers, we have seemingly recruited players Robins was not asking for and not filled huge fundamental gaps on the pitch. Again who is holding the power and make these choices?

All is not well and I get a sense at all levels that we have too many coaches and staff with too much to say and it's diluting and subsequently undermining the voice of the Manager.

Read the post match interview, what really worries me is that the lads chose not to listen to him. Those players need a hard look at themselves but this issue could spread. Robins needs to get a firm hand on the dressing room before he loses it.

This is a bad start, even for us who seem to start poorly every year. We have no clear tactics, players looks unmotivated (and tired), there appears to be in fighting and, despite spending a good amount the last two years, our squad is lob sided.

Biggest concern in all of it; is how absolutely clueless we look.

However, we’ve been here before with MR. Literally last season, new signings were being questioned, tactics were rubbish and the world was ending.

MR has a new squad to embed, has lost his inner circle/leaders, both on and off the pitch, and for the first time with us, has some serious expectations on him.

Longest serving players are now Wilson, Sheaf, Eccles and Bidwell - two of which he reportedly tried to move on. Coupled with a whole new coaching set up, and I’m sure MR is feeling pretty lonely right now.

Let’s give him some time. It’s tempting to push for MR Out considering how horrendous we’ve been most games, but he’s turned it round before and he deserves time to do so again.

It’s no surprise to see the usual immature attention seekers losing the plot either. I wonder how some people cope when actual important things in life get tough.

Oh absolutely, Club would need to afford any new manager of a completely new back room staff to allow them the best chance as it would be a huge job coming in after Mark at the best of times.

The problem isn’t him really. It’s the squad and backroom staff. And new manager would have the same problem and likely want the same solutions (experienced players and a proper assistant). So may as well give Rovins that.

FYI, I’m miles from being Robins Out.

If there was a deterioration of relationship between him and AV, then that’s very unfortunate. But if it’s players spitting their dummy out over a bit of tough love and criticism, then I’m not happy with them. Last thing any club needs is player power.

And if DK still doesn’t believe an older, experienced head is needed on that pitch, then he’s proving himself the clown who knows nothing about the game.

Was thinking about this last night, since the wingers aren’t performing and some want to play up front, is it time to move back to Robins basics and set up as a 5-2-1-2.

Dolvin
MVE - Binks-Kitching-Thomas - Dasilva
Eccles- Torp/Allen/Sheaf
Rudoni/EMC
Simms/BTA - Wright/Bassate

Least it’s something robins knows. No point playing with wingers if they play like they did against Swansea.

Slagging off robins but not a bad word to say about king haha this thread is hilarious, don’t think even pep could get anything out of the midfield we currently have.

let’s also not forget king doesn’t want experienced players that know the league, instead kids who aren’t ready as all he sees is the potential to sell them for more money in years to come….it’s a fucking joke

Tbf I get the sentiment of starting the same team that gave an absolutely brilliant performance against Spurs, the players just didn’t perform one bit and were clearly knackered so I don’t think Robins is completely to blame.

What I don’t understand is making 0 changes to the line-up and bring in attacking players that weren’t knackered to begin with. Also, making like-for-like changes and late substitutions when it’s clearly not working does absolutely nothing. Robins is a good manager and knows how to handle players egos well, he never seems to be too aggressive or too quiet, he’s just not proactive enough with line-ups, system changes or substitutions.

I'm sorry but this is a ridiculous contradiction If they were completely knackered then Robins is obviously at fault for picking them.

If Robins has picked a squad which are knackered, then he is to blame for playing them. No one else can be blamed for that.

we’ve had worse starts to a season than this so I’m not panicking just yet, all it is we’re not taking our chances, Norwich game should of been all over at half time and spurs, even as bad as were yesterday we could of actually won that, draw at least, just need to put a few more chances away, just need to stick with them, it’ll come together

Sure recruitment is an issue but come on with pep couldn’t do better . Managers have to use the tools available. Sure several managers in the league would be happy to have the squad robins has on paper.

Poor recruitment (seemingly on and off the pitch). That's on Doug as well as Robins.

Poor tactics. I'm not sure what we're trying to do most of the time.

Poor subs and team selection.

Ridiculous management of Ben Sheaf. Why was he even on the bench if he's not fit? And why when the leagues been pretty disastrous was he risked in a pointless league cup game, that was lost partly down to poor tactics and subs?

I'm a long way from wanting Mark Robins gone, but not for the first time in his tenure he's showing weaknesses in his judgement. In the past he's turned it around emphatically so I back him to sort it, but he has to start that during a challenging run of games. He could be gone before Christmas at this rate, which would be such a shame for it to end like that. PUSB

I said “he’s not completely to blame”, meaning it’s not all his fault. I didn’t say “none of the blame lies with him”, and, as I went on to state, “I don’t understand why he made 0 changes to the line-up”.

Not everything is black and white Chris, yes he should have made changes but the players that he did pick should have performed much better, hence some of the blame lies with Robins and some of the blame lies with the players.
