Talking to the press about recruiting some more players before this seasons transfer window shuts Robins says-

“I know exactly what we need to do. I’ve built five teams while I’ve been here.”

So who and what were in those 5 teams?

I’m guessing a Team to get promoted to Div 1 and the Championship.

A team to stay up in Div 1 and the Championship.

And now a team to get promoted to the Prem?

He didn’t really have time to build a team when he joined us for the second time when we got relegated to Div 2.

For me the team that got promoted to Div 1 was more or less the same team that got promoted to the Championship.

Can’t remember if Fadz, Godden & Allen joined our 1st season in Div 1.

Lg 2 - 2017 (Hyam, Biamou, McNulty, Kelly, Doyle, Andreu, Grimmer, Vincenti)
Lg 1 - A - 2018 (Bakayoko, Ogogo, Brown, Chaplin, Sterling)
Lg1 - B - 2019 (Godden, Fadz, Jobello, Allen, Kastaneer, Walsh, O'Hare, Dabo)
Champ - A - 2020 (Hamer, Sheaf)
Champ - B - 2021 - 2023 (Gyokeres, Maatsen, Loan Defenders etc)

L2 promotion, L1 consolidation, L1 promotion, Champ consolidation, Champ promotion push.

And we've been through some distinct tactical shifts too, from the 4 back used in L2/1 transitioning to the 3/5 back we adopted for the promotion season and in the championship.

Exactly why Alex Ferguson is rated greatest manager of all time. He literally had a brand new team win the league every 5 years. Jeez the teams he changed A-Z within years was phenomenal. Without any disruption to success rate.

Yeah he did later on. Started with a great youth system and started withour man Robin's and Dublin.

To think Cantona was Dublins replacement. His initial signings were incredible fir the money then.

He didnt have the Chelsea or Man city funds earlier on his reign in comparison.

No he didn't but he did have financial advantage over everyone else in the league for a long time

Still he did come back to overcome Chelsea and their millions
