Lets be blunt here. He’s a kid who has sat on the internet the last three years. He’s not refusing for medical reasons. But yeah, obviously if he can’t then fair enough and all the more reason for others to get it.

Then the senior figures in the squad need to sit the unvaccinated down, hear the TikTok concerns and tell them they’re screwing over their own teammates.

‘Get a prick, don’t be one’

Is it true that a player's mother in law was disabled by the vaccine? It's been posted on here that this is the case. Might explain vaccine hesitancy in the squad.

If only the contracts could be retrospectively amended.

In the NFL if teams can't play games due to COVID outbreaks with unvaccinated players then the team forfeits and the players aren't paid. Would be much better to have that here.

New Orleans Saints played on Monday night with 21 players & 4 coaches out due to Covid. Had to start their 4th choice quarterback.

Washington as well had to play with New England's practice QB last week. They either put a team out, no matter how bad, or forfeit.

Do we know what the current vaccination rate is in the EFL? The NFL is 95% vaccinated, NBA 97% and in the NHL they're nearly at 100% - 1 player left refusing to be vaccinated.

Could the reluctance come from reported links between vaccination and cardiac issues among young males?

one of the "truthers" mentioned it and said we all know about it but nobody actually knows about it and they refused to name names so I suspect it's a load of shit.

I think Robins is struggling with the players available just like every other team as he says. I see where we are position wise is a realistic assesment of how good this team is at the moment. We have had a bad run, missed lots of chances and with the players we have currently I cant see us moving much further up the table to be honest. This is not a critisism at all but just an asesment on how we fair in this league with what we have.

I think you’re right, we’ve been over achieving, particularly as we find it hard to score goals, which has negated a lot of good approach work. I’ll be very happy and think it will have been a positive season, if we avoid a relegation scrap and end up mid table.

Don't know
But we all know people who are violently anti-vaccine who have information that they believe and aren't open to debate

I think that will he a factor in future negotiations with all players G
But it's slightly more nuanced than that with some players who've had one jab and maybe had a bad reaction
Some fear that if they're unwell again after the 2nd they might not be available for the next match so lose their place in the side
I guess that's why Robins and other managers aren't more forthright
But I think it will change pretty fast now
Klopp and Eddie Howe have both said they won't sign unvaccinated players - and they are two teams who can afford to do so

The natural conclusion of this is a team managed by Steve Evans containing unvaccinated superstars that wins every L2 game they play but they have to forfeit over half their games.

I for one can't wait.

No harm at all, it might help. If I was a medical officer though, I would be reluctant to offer assurances about things that are still unknown at present. All they can really say is that there is no proof yet of a definite link between vaccinations and cardiac issues.

I'm sorry but if there are players having to isolate for 10 days because they're not vaccinated then they should lose wages for those 10 days.

If I couldn't do my job for 10 days at a time because of a choice I made I'd expect a bollocking and some sort of punishment.

Totally agree with your sentiment here but clubs must be having to deal with the legalities of the situation.

This stopping testing on the match day is a stupid rule as will just lead to more cases in long run.
players more together on match days than other days - team coach etc

I think it’s likely new contracts will stipulate this but clearly with existing ones it’s an issue. We don’t to be fair exactly know regarding Jones but it would be very disappointing if he’s not taken all precautions available given the club have gone beyond duty with welfare contracts etc

They play outdoors. They could arrive changed ready to play. They can travel to away games Independently or in groups determined by vaccination. They don't need to hug and kiss each other after a goal or huddle before the match. Much of this contact is avoidable.

All being in a dressing room for 10 mins receiving instructions whilst wearing a mask is all that's required and like going to the shops for the rest of us.

He didn't make excuses, he literally said it's the same for everyone?

We've not been at our best for a while (Bristol City early November?) but we totally bossed Huddersfield at their place in our last game but struggled to finish. I think if we'd have (deservedly) won that we'd have a lot more confidence & fluidity. We looked devoid of ideas last night.

I felt his interview was littered with skirting around the real issues the squad have, and whilst your point about Huddersfield is correct, we clearly have an issue putting the ball in the net.

It surprised me after several weeks off that we were even worse at it last night. I agree with your point about being devoid of ideas though.

Yes this is true and can totally understand that player not getting the vaccination , it has been a terrible situation for him and his family .This in turn has not helped with those players that are not sure whether to get vaccinated

Doing my best impression of a CT headline writer there

Just watched Robins interview from last night and he looks seriously pissed off. Someone mentioned before he said there was a “split in the camp” and it’s probably about who was isolating but watching it that’s not what comes across. He’s talking about how players got to spend time with their family which is important because there’s a split in the camp, which makes it sound like it’s something else.

Any of the ITKs shed any light? @Skybluebeliever
@better days

Anyone not ITK fancy making up outlandish rumours?

I think he was annoyed that everyone thought the club was okay and had not been affected , when in fact we have had a number of players self isolating the same as Stoke, Cardiff, millwall and now Luton and some days only training with 11/12 players , the same as these clubs but they have been looking to get games called off . I don’t think there is a split in the camp just it’s very disjointed and players are at different stages .

I think Robins said that Josh Reid tested positive after the last U23 game
As Jones had played in the team and trained with him the day before he had to self isolate. From what I hear Jones had been scheduled to get his 2nd dose but had to delay it
All a bit unfortunate really

Jodi Jones was photographed getting his first jab at UHCW in June, surely he's followed through with his second?

They can also say the occurrence is ridiculously low and the health risks of COVID outweigh that.

Probably not helped by the fact that they’ve continually insinuated that we haven’t been affected. Repeatedly saying no cases etc has filtered through to peoples’ expectations.

Delay could be if he's had Covid as you can't have jab within something like 90 days I think.

I’ve just seen Shipley in a soft play centre in leamington, you would have thought they would be asked to stay away from places like that a hot unventilated warehouse where most of the people won’t be vaccinated

I think we had some players who'd had one jab so just need to have their 2nd to be able to use daily LFTs to carry on if they're negative
But there are others who don't want any jabs at all
It's the same across the whole of society so no easy answer I'm afraid
You can’t force players to take a jab but you could reduce their package. I’m sure this will feature in new contracts going forward.

the truth is players that are not vaccinated are less valuable as they come with more risk of Covid impacting their bodies in the short and medium term.

if we truly do have a dressing room split due to vaccination views then it reflects poorly on Robins and Boddy.

Klopp has led from the front on this as has Ralph and surprise surprise 98% of their players are vaccinated ….

Klopp who puts a mask on for a minute for the camera but then forgets when he's going round hugging everybody?
