Very much in the news that RVP wants to leave Arsenal for pastures new and at 29 years of age could go for up to £20m !!!

Yes, great striker 30 league goals last season in 38 games BUT does any one realise that in the last 8 seasons he has missed 110 league games averaging only 24 games per season.

Goals per game is excellent but what club spending £20m wants a player that could be absent for over a third of each season.

A tad risky don't you think and at £20m not a good long term investment and don't forget Arsenal have won naff all in the last 6 years even with his goals ?

One things for sure if he wants out he is gone. Yet we are expected to hold onto Keogh, westwood etc.

If you're Man City it's not risky!

I heard George Graham on talksport the other day, and his view was that in modern football and bosman's you should be sitting down and negotiating as soon as they enter the last two years of their contract's. Had we offered Westwood in particular a new deal after his great first season, he'd have probably signed it, and at least we'd have managed to sell him rather than lose him for nothing.

I'm disappointed that Keogh has gone, but I would rather seller sold him now than let him leave for nothing at the end of the season.

But if he's getting the goals it's hardly his fault Arsenal have won naff all is it. He's done his part of the bargain getting so many goals in just 38 games.
