He references the keeper injury in what was posted on Stoke’s YTI feel like I missed part of his interview. Only seen him going on about long balls and playing for set pieces
How about “ Coventry are top for a reason. They are a very good side with some very good players. For long periods I thought we matched them and if anything had the best chance of the match but that’s football and we will recharge over the international break and look to kick on again.”
You don’t have to criticise your own team to give credit to the opposition.
We have never had so much praise as we are having at the moment from the football community. It would not have looked at all odd if Mark had been another of those voices.
For those of you that can’t bare the idea that Mark might be a little bit in the wrong can I suggest you remind yourself of his usual post match comments when he was our manager …
We would hear most matches “ these are a top top side by the way “ “ xxx had done a fabulous job at this club” “ they have a team full of power that can really hurt you “
We would hear comments like this week in week out for years. Yet yesterday and he couldn’t find it in him to do it …..
So what is he supposed to say? Congratulations to Coventry a team I loved for many a game and piss his new fans off, he has moved on so should we...thank you for your time here but atm we are a much better team !
It wasn’t for no reason though was it !Yea total fucking mystery why he’s not nice to a club that sacked him a year ago with little reason then went on a media campaign saying he was a shit manager who lost the plot.

Take the blinkers off.
Well, they held a media event and claimed that the manager had a falling out with his assistant, the assistant wasn't adequately replaced for whatever reason and the coaching setup wasn't good enough. You can take it with a pinch of salt as MR hasn't given his version of events, but it was clear from the on field performances that something really had gone wrong.Yea total fucking mystery why he’s not nice to a club that sacked him a year ago with little reason then went on a media campaign saying he was a shit manager who lost the plot.
Listen. I've given you all the night to reconsider your postings about Mark, and still there are some people disrespecting him. You've had your final warning now. Don't test me.
I didn't expect us to arrive back at 'Robins didn't deserve to be fired' while we're playing the best football I've seen in my life and top of the league. But here we are.Well, they held a media event and claimed that the manager had a falling out with his assistant, the assistant wasn't adequately replaced for whatever reason and the coaching setup wasn't good enough. I still don't think that King had the knives out for him, he really wanted MR to complete the story but it had got to the point where everyone needed a fresh start.
Deep down Robins also probably realises that he's better off where he is now. It's sad that he couldn't be the one to deliver the season we're having at the moment but that's football, you don't always get the perfect story and his one went into orbit with Dabo's penalty.I didn't expect us to arrive back at 'Robins didn't deserve to be fired' while we're playing the best football I've seen in my life and top of the league. But here we are.
Storm in a tea cup, massive overreaction from our fans who need to grow up.
Is anyone actually overreacting or are people just pointing out his interview was bitter?
He used to say the same stuff when he was managing us.
Including 'We can't compete financially with these teams' or 'They showed the dark arts'.
We still love the bloke and the day he retires he should be considered for a statue.
There’s some wild overreactions on other platforms
OK Dad.Storm in a tea cup, massive overreaction from our fans who need to grow up.
I think if he gives that kind of interview as a coventry manager nobody on here would be questioning it. I think some people wanted him to have a love in.
I neither need nor crave it.A lot of our support have a strange need to be loved by other supporters, managers etc.
It's quite weird.
So limited he saved us from the very real prospect of slipping out of the league, won the EFL trophy, gave us our first top 6 finish in 50 years, won the League Two play off final, consolidated in League One, Won our first Championship, the League One Championship, in nearly 60 years, consolidated in the Championship, got us to within a penalty kick of the PL, got us to an FA Cup semi final and to within a whisker of the final (Torp’s goal the best single moment of my sixty years supporting City). Most of this achieved with no money (only what he generated himself) and having to work with Sisu as owners, Wasps as landlords and playing 20 miles up the road in Birmingham.I watched his pre match interview, and I thought he came across as very respectful and almost a tinge of regret the way it ended and that he never got to finish the job.
Robins is limited as a manager and it was the correct decision for him to leave, but I have nothing but respect for him and what he achieved and a few comments in a post match interview won't change that.
My take -He was sacked because of the poor start that we didn’t look like we were going to recover from.Yea total fucking mystery why he’s not nice to a club that sacked him a year ago with little reason then went on a media campaign saying he was a shit manager who lost the plot.
Yeah but apart from that...what Has Robins ever done for us?So limited he saved us from the very real prospect of slipping out of the league, won the EFL trophy, gave us our first top 6 finish in 50 years, won the League Two play off final, consolidated in League One, Won our first Championship, the League One Championship, in nearly 60 years, consolidated in the Championship, got us to within a penalty kick of the PL, got us to an FA Cup semi final and to within a whisker of the final (Torp’s goal the best single moment of my sixty years supporting City). Everything that is being done at the moment is being built on the outstanding achievements of Mark Robins. I read his comments after the game and saw little wrong with them. I also read his notes in the program before the game and these very much shows the feelings that he has and will always have (his words) for this club.
It seems to me that some people seem to revel in gleefully belittling someone who should always be remembered with affection and respect. Calling him a ‘twat’ saysI think a lot more about the person doing this than it does about Robins. I think the vast majority of City fans will always have respect for him and for what he has done for this club unlike a few on here who should know better.
No Mark Robins in our past means no Frank Lampard in our present..
I neither need nor crave it.
I do expect it though.
Minor point really but I’ve heard a few people questioning why Robins didn’t utilise the long throw. At the start of his time here MvE hurt his arm (I think maybe taking a long throw). That first season he was therefore unwilling or unable to take long throws.Nothing to do with Robins telling him not to do it. We had previously frequently taken advantage of McCallum’s long throw.Someone should’ve asked him if it was that easy why didn’t he utilise MvEs throw as much (because he was probably picking Lati and Binks as CBs so we had less aerial threat)
Seriously though, it was nothing I didn’t expect him to say. He needs to have his players keep believing. Doesn’t change my opinion of him or what he did here. Legend. Also again confirms that Lampard and his team are getting a little bit more out of pretty much the same group
It doesn't even make sense. How do you actually play to win throw-ins?“ Coventry play for corners , free kicks & throw ins “
Well Mark , our overall play was also far superior than your negative play & as the home team , you bottled it !

My take -He was sacked because of the poor start that we didn’t look like we were going to recover from.
Then the owner at a poorly hosted forum by CWR stated that there were also underlying issues due to the fall out with Robins and Vivash that were never resolved.
For both it’s now proving to be the right decision when he was sacked and replaced by Lampard.
Time to move on, recognise the time under Robins and enjoy the success and overall improvement that we are now having with Lampard.
I think it was his back that he hurt, but that would have been a factor.Minor point really but I’ve heard a few people questioning why Robins didn’t utilise the long throw. King shouldn’t have said anything. As I said it was classless. Robins couldn’t respond. He should have thanked him for what he did and moved on. King has a bit of petulant child about him if we’re honest an we’ve seen it a few times. This was one of them. The idea Robins was shit is clearly nonsense when he’s got fucking Stoke as title challengers.
