Ok so the title of the thread is a bit melodramatic but with everything that's happening at CCFC I really do fear for the clubs future. Sisu seem prepared to allow the club to spend 5 years or so in the wilderness whilst a new stadium is built. In that time fans will inevitably drift away. Some will die off, some will find other things to do and the next generation of fans could be lost.

My fear is that in 5 years time we may well start playing in a new stadium in Coventry but have much smaller gates than we've had in the past.

But before we even kick a ball in the new stadium we will need to hang on to the manager and avoid relegation for the next few seasons. Going backwards from where we are is not something we can afford . And whilst we are playing well this season we can't afford to falter .

As fans we need to see the council and or Sisu seize the initiative.... But at present we have more chance of seeing Hell freeze over..... Actually in the US Hell has frozen over...

I guess we will see if the judicial review changes things, either the council cave or sisu leave, if it doesn't I don't see a way out of this, the plan sisu they tell us they have is clearly fiction and not at all viable. We are just lucky that Pressley has worked miracles with such a low budget and young small squad. Unless we get promoted this year I don't see how it can last and if we start losing players that pressley wants to keep due to money then other job offers will start to look very attractive to him.

It plainly obvious that SISU are doing this to get the Ricoh.. If they were going to build a stadium regardless they would take the rental deal for 3 years at the Ricoh and then build the stadium whilst still in Coventry.

Good post and some real concerns. I told my mate i fear a relegation battle. He laughed.

But think about it, we leak goals for fun. This cannot be argued by anyone.

We are being saved by our strike force.

The Wilson/Clarke partnership was amazing.

Wilson is now out for over 8 weeks or whatever it is. And then he has to get back to fitness.

I fear Leon Clarke will be sold as there are a few clubs intrested in him.

What will happen to this team without a strike force to prop them up?

What happened to all the City fans for the eight years we were at the Ricoh? Hardly came flocking, did they? OK, the football was a little rubbish most of the time but if you're a fan then you're a fan. For the majority of our time at the fantastic community asset we were faced with swathes of empty seats.

A classic case of you don't appreciate something until it's not there. I hope all those clamouring and protesting about being in Northampton actually put their hand in their pocket and support their club when we eventually return to the Ricoh, which I think we will.

If Sisu don't get a similar bump I'd say it's pretty noteworthy. That's standard for a new stadium.

Agreed. Ultimately it's success on the pitch.

Let's face it, as long as it's fairly near any stadium would pull in significant crowds on the back of any promotion season. Even if the current boycotters stay away there's plenty who have no such qualms.

IIRC the average crowds at the Ricoh were above 20,000 before SISUE took over. They went down after they got us relegated, but even with this we had a higher gate than just about every season at HR for many years, and this was playing in the prem.
