And sisu in all of it's guises have been the most farcical football club owners. All I wanted a few years ago was for the club to own the ricoh and the council to sell up. but with the remotest possibility sisu will still be in charge i'd rather it was still in the hands of ACL , as a Coventry council tax payer, even if that means no sky blues playing there. If sisu got the ricoh on the cheap we'd suffer double. They still wouldn't invest in the team and the council would lose out obviously

Doesn't everyone know by now that the problem is Sisu. They are a rogue company who no one trusts and everyone wants rid of.
And doesn't everyone know that a new stadium deal will be agreed with a new owner fairly smoothly.

Bleeding obvious.

I don't see how anyone can know that second part. Nothing goes smooth with Cov. Ever.

The vast majority of Cov fans have made it crystal clear they dont want 'home' games out of Coventry. If Sisu do that they will be giving 2 fingers to supporters.
But no doubt they Sisu will have the full support of Grendel, Torch, Summerisle and Stupot.

You left me out remember I'm a born again Sisu supporter I cant wait for champion league games at the Sisu stadium its going to be such fun, Joy and Timmy taking the plaudits telling everyone that this was the plan all the time . Its a good job they took down those parasites at ACL

Im telling you we are going to be the next Man City up we go Joy and Timmys what ever colour they want us to play in Army. All you doubters just remember after a couple of games in whatever town, village or county our glorious leaders can find a ground in that can accomodate upwards of 1500 of the formidable Sky Blue Army, we will return triumphant. Those horrible council and CHARITY people will be gone and the vindication of our Great Joy begins. Can hardly control myself its almost orgasmic !

Well, I presume then that the new owners will deem the arrangement fair - after all ACL are the innocent party in all this - and will be more than happy to stump up £1.2M a year.

Of course ACL are not the innocent party. How dare they set a rent that people agree with and accept and then expect those same people to pay it, ridiculous and damn right underhandI'm with you get rid of theas parasites

Right so effectively you are saying lets see what else they come up with on top of muse and Bruce.

They have previously had Pink, Oasis, take that, Chilli Peppers, Cold Play, The Enemy. The Davis cup. Heineken cup. The Olympics.

I don't like psychics but apparently that Sally is internationally famous.

You are right will be interesting to see what they get.

They don't have a bad record so far in my book.

First time in my life time Coventry has been staging events like that.

Most of the top acts though never come back again !, Take that toured again last year but used villa park, and when was the last rugby match played here.
Even the England u21 games bypass the Ricoh now. ACL need to have a good look at their marketing because its no good getting groups to play here then never have them return.

Had to pay the LTA £50,000 to come here as well, still I expect it'll help tourism in the city in the future.

"Tarquin and Olivia had such a super time at the Davis Cup that we're selling the villa in Tuscany and going to holiday in Coventry from now on".

I'm still not convinced that the Ricoh can survive without CCFC as anchor tenants BUT I am sure that CCFC cannot survive without the Ricoh or an alternative venue within Coventry.

hmm. Off top of my head I dont know, but I suppose there is development land in/around Coventry that could accomodate a stadium. Fact is CCFC was founded in 1883, the Arena opened in 2005. I don't support the club because it plays at the Ricoh- I support them initially becuase of my family and then the memories & relationships that have formed around my love for the club. That is why the club will always survive, whoever owns it, wherever it plays.

NO!
SISU are being forced to carry this through because the CCC and their created sub-company CCC Holdings (ACL) have got their heads up their A***es!

Do you think Sisu have any idea about running a football team ?

Do you think they have designs on the stadium to aquire it and turn a quick profit ?

Do you think sisu really give a flying fuck about the supporters ?

I meant an existing stadium. Does anyone seriously think that Sisu will shell out money to build one themselves?

If SISU were totally whiter than white in all this why are they challenging the loan made to ACL? What other motive can therefore be other than to put ACL into a difficult financial position?

Oh and when I saw the RHCP at the Ricoh I met loads of people who lived outside the west midlands who had come up especially for the concert. So maybe more concerts are a possible revenue stream if the club bugger off, no roof needed then. Although I'd prefer to stay where we are, personally.

That's the spirit. Screw the club support ACL. With fans like you who needs enemies.

How much do ACL make from concerts? Is it a flat fee or a percentage of ticket sales? You clearly know as you evaluate they can make money from this. How many concerts in 30,000 plus venues do you think are available?

Take it u don't realise just how much money can be made from exhibitons!

At £150 m2 (the NEC), the pitch alone is 105m x 68m

Each exhibition can take over £1m - before sponsorship & food!

Why else would you think sisu would be so desperate to stay - they have shown beyond doubt they have no interest in the team - its the ONLY sane reason why they would fund losses for so long. It can only be the assumption at some stage they could get the arena for a snip!

I've supported this club for 36 years but I'm buggered if I'm going to St Andrews or Villa to watch a home match. We have a perfectly good stadium Coventry and I'd rather go there thanks. No idea what ACL make out of concerts all I was thinking was that it was an income stream that doesn't require a roof to be built.

Take a look for yourself at the ACL accounts made up to May 2012:

ftp://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/im...6/cc/8e/98/blREX+0L0119-274225_3-08818009.pdf

The loan with the Yorkshire Bank is stated at being £15.6m as of May 2012, and paid off in full with £14m from the council in Jan this year.

The only reason I can see for challenging the loan made to ACL is to distress ACL financially and they've already had a go at that by not paying the rent. So why do they want to distress ACL? And the only reason I can think of for doing that is to bankrupt ACL.

I was only opposed to it because it was taxpayers' money who paid for it, I don't see how the CCC can justify spending that money in times of 'prosperity', let alone austerity! If the CCC have done something wrong according to the law, which we are all bound to live by, they should be punished in whatever way the judge says so.

Yes let's wind up the council and let the celebrations begin. Doesn't matter that SISU have been breaking legally binding agreements for a year.

Your last line should be based on you.
your right ACL would not exist without ccfc.
we sold our ground had no where to play (sounds familiar)
Had no money for the 45,000 covered ground with movable pitch.
At the end of the day ACL will leave when someone wants to buy them out.
SISU as usual want it for nothing.
Need the sale of pop and crisps to survive fuckin mess they have left our club in £5,000 per week pop sales will save our club wouldn't even pay our beloved stewards.
Grendel said:

We must be the only club who have "fans" who side with a management company of the stadium we are in. ACL would never have existed without the club.

Your comments tonight expose you for what you really are.

What i want to see happen is unification of the stadium and operations with the club to allow all revenue streams to benefit ccfc with owners being able to take out a profit.
Now the critical part to protect the clubs future is the council selling up. This sale needs to be at a discounted price so that covenents can be placed on it to stop owners splitting it from the club and mortgaging it to the hilt.
I can't see this happening with Sisu but who knows.
