I don’t see why Moyes would want our job, or any other job in this league. He’s 61 and hasn’t managed outside a top division for more than 20 years.

I agree, he’s the only one I see that I think could do a great job. But a very big ask to get him in.

No chance Moyes even looks at the Coventry City job

Well, we shall see. I suspect that hole will be plugged by player trading cash surpluses, rather than from Mr King’s pockets.

The last accounts show he put £6 million into the club

Moyes would be a different level to any of the others, I seriously doubt he is within reach of us though.

Of the 4 that seem to have the most prominent position in the market:

1. Van Nistelrooy
2. Carsley
3. Bloomfield
4. Basically, anybody else
5. Lampard

Do we know if he’s taking a salary or dividends from the club ??

If not then he’s equivalently putting in £1m-£2m every year anyway.

Very different to continually fund an operating loss than put in initial funding in the first year.

I do not believe Doug King is a rich man (in football funding terms anyway), so think it will be a challenge to continually fund operating losses - I hope I am wrong and you are right, but I fear the lack of midfield investment in the last transfer window may be a result of this lack of cash. Of course, it may just be down to poor recruitment.

As I said in my previous post, we shall see.

King’s spin on midfield was that we had enough in there already. He basically said if Stamenic had arrived Sheaf was off so we were never going to boost numbers in there. I understood his point to be fair. We’d signed Torp. Kept Allen. Still had Palmer. His argument falls down with the Palmer sale but you can see his mindset. It’s not about are they good enough. It’s about the numbers he’s agreed. I can see his point to be fair.

He won’t be putting in himself. He will have backers presumably via his hedge fund

Sounds a bit like a SISU-type arrangement. Thats exactly what they did until they realised they weren’t able to acquire the freehold.

Not really. The trail with King is a lot easier and he is I believe the sole shareholder. Most clubs have loans out in by individuals or syndicates of investors

Not sure CCFC will be paying dividends any time soon or Doug is worth a £1m payslip.

You might need to dial back the Doug love it’s getting cringe.

Yep, King owns 100% and I agree, it is more transparent than SISU days.

Can't see DK going for Moyes even if he was interested in the job. I get the feeling he wants a much younger coach, so we're probably looking at someone in his 40's.

In my humblest of opinions..

Moyes would be by far the best, but wouldn’t excite the fans.

The rest of these names- don’t give a toss, nobody sticks out at all.

King should do what he can to get Moyes, we get the best chance of promotion from the names mentioned, but be prepared to not see the type of football we all apparently demand.

I like Moyes but what suggests he could get us promoted?

He's good at setting up a team on the counter attack and finishing mostly mid table

If the club is making a loss he can't take dividends .

There's also very low liquidity in manager markets - so a decent ish size bet or bets will move the market dramatically

I've been over this but RvN win rate, trophies and style of play at PSV. Actually he's won more than Moyes has ever has in one season

Think I’d rather have Tommy Gravesen as head coach than Nicky f-ing Butt.
