If it’s Lampard, then kiss goodbye to any hope of the playoffs. Or a mid table finish.

It isn’t difficult; look at the success that Championship clubs have had with relatively unknown continental manager: Bielsa, Farke, Wagner (before the PL), Rohl (doing a sterling job at a proper tinpot set up) and the other one I can’t recall.

It could easily be Eirik Hordeland (?) or the German manager who took his team up 3 divisions. But it won’t be. It’ll be a glamour fucking appointment that none of us want.

Apologies for the rattling on, I’ve had a few. But seriously, Lampard, Gerrard and their ilk of unbelievable players/garbage managers can get fucked. That is all.

Tbf I saw someone say earlier we probably are doing ourselves down as a job prospect

The financials are far from dire, the team isn’t dreadful, the fanbase is now there

I certainly don’t think he’s ‘too big’ for us

He got to the play off final in his one season in the championship. He’d also command the respect instantly of the dressing room

So what we're offering multi millionaire Frank Lampard is the chance to manager a team struggling for points, to work with a coaching set up that isn't his, have no money to bring in any of his own players, whilst replacing the clubs best manager of recent times and with the fans in a mini revolt, with the weight of expectation to get us into the Premier League?

Sounds too good to be true! I can see why he'd fancy it!

Fair enough, I just don’t believe he will reach that ceiling here, in our club’s climate.

Speaking to my Chelsea mate and he agrees pros and cons to lampard

He does say he likes being on the training pitch though and lead shy example on drills etc

So maybe fits more the role DK wants rather than a more office based manager

He plays 433 too

The ONLY way Lampard will work is if Doug bling lets him bring loans in. He clearly has good links and we’ll be able to bring in some up and coming talents….

Frank Lampards sky blue army! He’ll never be mark robins but if he is coming in it’s time to get behind him, we could have done a lot worse but also I guess could have been more ambitious….time will tell

Also the idea a new coach won't get any money is mad, I mean the same people claim that king has wanted robins out for ages. I mean he's spent an awful lot on players for a manager he has "wanted out"

there's no joined up logic

That’s just a ridiculous comment, he’s managed at Chelsea, kept a dogshit Everton team in the league and got derby to a play off final. Rooney has been absolutely shocking

The more I’ve read up and looked at Lampard it would be an interesting appointment.

He’s managed in the championship and did well with a play off final, managed in the Premiership all at a young age. He finished top 4 with Chelsea and got them to the fa cup final, managed in an embargo, saved Everton from relegation. All basked case clubs in their own right.

He would have gained a lot on insights and lessons on himself as a coach. He develops young players, active on the training pitch and he is a big household name. Players will show respect from day 1. He is in the ilk of a modern day head coach. Also new players would want to join a big name in future transfers.

Sometimes a managers timing in their career and club can be the right match for each other. Maybe this is the setup and platform for him to succeed. Doug wants Premiership football for the club and someone like Lampard will want that journey.

Those Chelsea and Everton sides cost astronomical amounts, (I'm fairly sure the Derby one did by Championship standards), and he did fuck all with them.
Rooney may be useless, but seeing cutting about resembling a functioning alcoholic ground worker always puts,a smile on my face so at least I'd have that

Mate he got Chelsea to 4th in his first season in the Prem, don’t think too many managers can say that for there second job, much rather him than some randomer from Wycombe,

If we were after Rooney you would be using id rather have lampard

At school you would be given a timeout pass to calm down and regulate.

You need to lighten up.

Lampard spent £220m at Chelsea and left them in 9th…

what’s the point in having Chelsea links if we have an owner who doesn’t sign loans
