There's a young Dutch manager called Markus Roobens who would be a good fit.

It seems to me MR knew the writing was on the wall. I believe in an interview around QPR game he mentioned these kind of results could cost him his job. So I bet Doug had been clear with him for a while where he stood, I do not think it came out of the blue to MR. Therefore I would find it unbelievable for Doug and board not to have put a lot of thought into succession planning over the last month or two. I’m sure they have their shortlist and may even had some initial meetings to sound people out.

We have an owner who has made it clear Premiership is goal, therefore the new manager/ head coach should be capable of buying into this plan. I was Robins in, at least for the remainder of this season, but we are where we are now and need to look forward and not back.

Clearly there are lots of capable managers that could do this job, if we believe MR was the only one then we are deluding ourselves,

Hopefully it is isn't a condition for a new manager that he has to adopt the coaching team. That will put better candidates off. However, the cost to replace them maybe too much for Doug to consider.

Fuck. None of those are better than Robins. I'd have Selles or maybe Wagner, but the rest are fucking desperate.

Watched a few interviews with Bloomfield on YT last night, as had never heard of him. Quite impressed me, there's a level of intensity there. Carsley would be my pick though.

This is actually what i came to question though.

After the Luton game,

"Mark Robins admits he could “easily” have lost his job amid Coventry City’s poor start to the Championship season.

The Sky Blues boss has praised the club’s hierarchy for staying calm"

Robins said: “It really is humbling because there’s no doubt about it, it happens every year and I turn around and I could so easily have lost my job. I could so easily have lost my job and the fact that I haven’t had pressure from anybody here..."

In any other job you would be performance managed. You would be given feedback that you will be given time to turn it around. I would argue that Robins hasn't had any of this. And a trigger without any warning or conversation is shambolic

Wouldn't pay any attention to the odds. There wont be many people betting on it and so any amount waged on a name will see the the odds shorten.

I think it's far more likely our new head coach isn't on that list.

tbf a pretty solid source said we've spoken to Wycombe about Bloomfield, and after that he's shot to odds-on favourite.

That's the effect of the rumour. Rumour released, punters read it and place bets. Odds shorten.

We will have money to spend even if it reduces the playing budget, there has to be something there. I have said that whilst the structure will remain, it doesn’t mean the people need to be the same

Ours are more volatile becuase we’re a small market. If me and my bro both put £20 on John Terry he’ll be odds on favourite

Yeah that was my point really. Hence no weight should be put into who is the favourite as this stage.

To be fair, we approached the Wycombe manager almost as soon as the Mark news came out so we clearly have been planning it for a bit

There isn’t a board as Doug King is the sole director.

This means that all important matters are his sole decision rather than a collective one. I do hope that, even though they aren’t directors, he has people around him with a good range of knowledge that he uses as sounding boards.

Assume it would be Dean Austin, Claire, the forest COO advising with Doug having final decision.

That's the profile of who we will get.

A coach with lots of badges in his first head coach role so he doesn't mind that he has to inherit staff.

He will spend 10 games "embedding his philosophy" and the fans will have no patience.

I can only see it being a disaster
