The cost implications of hiring someone like that would be insane and there’s nothing to say they would recreate their success here.

Would be great, but zero chance of that happening.

Would be happy with Wagner or Schumacher off that list, but I don’t think the latter would come here. I think Wagner is currently out of work though?

But the idea of appointing McFadzean is farcical. You talk about cost but that is a situation King has created. To appoint a decent manager then the chances are they will want their own team, so the existing coaching team will go at a cost.

King has put himself under pressure he has to get it right. Taking a cheap option could be disastrous, how much would relegation cost us?

I’ve got a massive shredder on the back of my truck for your PL packages if we appoint Bloomfield.

Robbie Keane would be my choice out of everyone listed, I’m basing this on the fact he was my favourite player though

There are some names that fill me with dread. Why is Nicky Butt in the running? Alex Neil too.

Haha oh 100% I agree the idea of appointing McFadz is farcical! Cheap(er) option doesn’t necessarily mean that it wouldn’t work for us. Robins wasn’t pulling up any trees when he came to us either time. Like I wouldn’t be writing off the Wycombe manager if he came, it might work.

Im a glass half full kind of guy - at least Troy Deeney and Joey Barton aren’t on the list. If they were I’d let you push me off the edge.

I believe that the actual quote was, and I’m paraphrasing here…

“I would jump at the chance to manage Coventry City. I’ve been a fan since I was a small boy. I’m sick of the hot weather in Turkey and the level of officiating is too good; there is more to complain about in the Championship”

After some extensive research (20 mins) across some some of the finest data miners known to date (Wikipedia, football manager) I’ve come up with the following:

I would like:
Eirik Horneland
Kim Hellberg
Denis Lawrence
Graham Potter (dreaming)

I would accept:
Robbie Keane
Brian Barry-Murphy
Ryan Lowe

I do not want:
Matt Bloomfield
Frank Lampard
Steve Holland

He did say it, about the Championship, not City!
I think it was more his way of having a dig at VAR as he said something along the lines of he'd only return to England in the Chamionship because he hates VAR and the Championship doesn't have it

Obviously it was tongue in cheek

He’s fuming with the Turkey officials, and the club not telling him “how bad it was”. Maybe we could entice him

Alex Ferguson’s advice to Robbie Keane, who says he is ready to coach again

Former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson passed on some words of wisdom to Robbie Keane

Alex Ferguson has advised Robbie Keane don't pick the club but pick the owner. He won't be coming here then!

Isn't it just a bit of a reality though that most modern day managers / head coaches all try and play the exact same way anyway ?

It’s why I don’t blame the players for fucking up the play out of the back. No sane should be expecting Kitching and Thomas not to fuck up considering Ruben Dias and Ake occasionally do

If we're gonna bring Keane in alongside Boateng can we also bring in Hedman, Daish, Shaw and Hadji as part of a 90s nostalgia coaching set up.... Just Imagine the retro merch you could flog Doug!!!

I guess he would want to manage a much better club than us though.
