Becuase on the pitch decisions are on the manager. Always have done.

ultimately it should be the players - but we’re not going to dispense of 40m worth of players are we.

this is how football has always been

But we won’t sack the scouting team either?

As I say if something’s been working for seven years and you change almost all of it, why would the first place you look be the bit you haven’t changed and not all the new stuff?

If we spend all this time scouting foreign leagues for gems but decide our manager based on who’s doing well in league 1 right now I’ll hit the roof.

Apparently we're not looking for a manager, we're after a head coach, to work within Doug King's coaching set up.
I'm wondering if that might put some potential applicants off.

The same structure may not mean the same staff - be interesting to see what leeway on the coaching staff the new guy gets

They will if need be - i don’t actually think the signings have been bad. Generally I think these players are good players. But something isn’t happening - whether Robins has lost the dressing room I don’t know we’ll soon find out. I’m convinced simms will be magically fit on Saturday

you’ve also got to remember that Robins is the last of the old regime. He was never a king man. New owners regularly bring In all their own people

Right so Doug is effectively a manager who can’t be sacked.

You have said yourself on here that owners don't sack themselves I remember. So it's nothing new

Some lower championship side

finished top half last 3 seasons

he’d come in a heartbeat

Owners usually take a back seat regarding football and appoint a manager to handle that for them.

Well you think we will be relegated this year so we are at least a bottom half championship side according to you

Would be like us suggesting if a Prem club came in for Robins that he wouldn’t have went!

It's the anger currently.

It's an extremely difficult job initially for an inexperienced manager.

If we lose the first two, some of our fans will completely lose their heads.

I like to think given the difficulty of our next few fixtures, our fans will accept a few losses if they can see things changing.

Id hope so at least.

Yes, but that’s the extent of their involvement. And the manager has full say over everything football related in a normal club setup. But if you appoint people the manager can’t sack then you take responsibility over their areas of performance too.

When you’re a multimillion pound franchise that’s ticking along most seasons I can see the appeal of stability. When you’re a scrappy upcoming club punching above its weight ripping what’s working out and replacing it relies on you being able to pick better on average than what you’ve got.

Although I’d point out Pep is a manager, not a head coach.

Ultimately I don’t get why Robins gets seven years of results then 8 months is enough for him to go, but those brought in more recently don’t go first.

Personally, I'm looking forwards to the weekly polls. I'm hoping we can become the first football club run entirely via online poll.

They don't seem to realise coaches have to start somewhere and most even the good ones don't start at elite clubs furst teams

May not be a bad thing based on everyone's response to pretty much the entire list on Sky Bet.

From a PR perspective a foreign unknown is the best shout. Anyone people have a reference for won’t match up to Robins right now.
