The Bloomfield link can't be serious.

That would be extremely poor. Like another Schumacher to Stoke scenario.

Danny Rohl would be great, might be too expensive though as just signed a new deal.

He’s a manager. Which is weird cos he’s got all the same guff around him and I was reliably informed only head coaches could work in that structure.

Surely it will be someone who is under 23 and has the potential to be sold for a few million.

Wilfried Nancy would be my top choice. Took over Montreal after Thierry Henry and completely turned them around. Then moved to Columbus who aren’t one of the big clubs in MLS (no major signings like a Messi or Carlos Vela) and immediately turned them into the best team in the league. Then finished 2nd this last season despite losing their best midfielder.

Good video on his style here.

Who is going to be advising King on this?

Given he knows nothing about football I don't see him picking some up and coming foreigner as he's more likely to be seduced by a big name. Welcome Frank.

I’ve seen one article saying Lampard is the favourite. Although I think it’s the right time to part ways with Robins based on Lampards managerial abilities and achievements I can’t help but think what was the point in sacking Robins if you’re going to replace him with Lampard.

One of the other managers I posted in the OP, Rydstrom, is a big relationism believer too. Turned malmo into the best team in Sweden with it.

Look at Man Utd over the last 11+ years:
- Appoint a 'world-class' manager to replace previous.
- Replace existing players with new managers choices at vast cost.
- Team fails to live up to expectations.
- Sack manager.
- Repeat ad nauseum.

This is potentially what awaits unless Doug King is either very talented or very lucky.

He was handed the best coaching team outside the PL and a £35m war chest. I’d say he’s used up all his luck.

Man U recruitment has long been an issue though.

We on paper have a structure in place that should keep things consistent even with manager changes

I know I’m a stuck record here but can you guys hear yourselves?

“Oh we need a giant modern setup so that sacking the manager won’t have any impact”

Why did you sack the manager?

“Oh I’m hoping it’ll impact the results”

Gary O'Neil apparently on the brink should Wolves lose at home to Saints this weekend... maybe a bit too ambitious?
