Still one of the things that irks me about the Ricoh. There's a bloody train line running alongside it and the ground been open almost 10 years, I cannot believe it has taken this long.
I'll still only believe it when I see it.
So true!
It is one of this downsides that many concert revellers complained about... the transportation to the stadium.
well finally getting there unless the CCC blow it.
Yeah but no concerts this year yet?
Wonder whether It would be worth considering the GODIVA festival there ,keep the Earlsdon vote quiet?

No concerts at all? Can't understand that when there is no football to consider.
Especially when many on here would have you believe that the football stopped the Arena hosting more concerts.
People will not commit with the risk of the JR having potential implications for ACL, however minimal.

I think the football footfall only on 25 odd days a year does not warrant it.
Why would you move the festival from a good area to a total shit hole?
Conversely though you could argue (and these are pure approximations, to which I may be doing the train station a disservice) 5000 use it each match day, so thats 125,000 passengers a year purely for football and not even thinking about the shopping, exhibition centre, concerts and casino. Surely a good reason to have one there?
Not advocating it ,but It Is weather dependent for success ,It would remove that .
Like you I prefer It where It Is ,should anyone want to Commercialize It though might be different .
Fuck off. Just fuck off. They tried enough of that crap with the gated area and that stopped me going, I couldn't think of anything worse than the Godiva indoors.
Calm down lad It's not my preference or viewpoint or likely to happen, just floating it.
And I'm just sinking it.
God know who else Weber Shandwick have as clients, the walls have ears man!

Agreed, also it's chicken and egg, make it easier to get to and more things will be put on, needing more transport capacity.
Frankly if we came back I'd go by train, far easier than fucking about avoiding car park stewards.

You mean you can't swagger around with a crate of beer on your shoulder now?
You mean you can't swagger around with a crate of beer on your shoulder now?
Now't wrong with that ,so long as you share It ,a carton of red wine is far easier to conceal .
Why? Especially considering I don't remember a concert there all this season.
I'm not looking for an argument or being anti-ACL, I'm merely intrigued.
People keep mentioning Weber Shandwick, its my understanding ACL have only used them once, they now rely on another firm for their pr, a company called SISU much more effective.
There's a lack of stadium tours this summer so it's the same for many other venues. Just one of those things that happens every few years as different artists use different touring cycles. Pretty certain it doesn't reflect in any way on the Ricoh which is very highly regarded as a concert venue.
So we play at the Ricoh for years without a station and only when we move out do we get one......only in Coventry boys and girls only in Coventry
