Havent stayed on a matchday, but have stayed in a pitch side room out of season.
If you get a pitch side room, your bed folds into the wall to make a 'box', before being converted back into a room to stay in. Not sure if these are available match day though, as think the boxes may be hired out as boxes, and hotel rooms separately.
If I recall correctly, the sliding door which would be open during a match is locked when staying over. Could be wrong though (although cant imagine security would want people having access to the stadium when the 'bowl' isn't being used).

Stayed in hotel for first game of season.. We had to check out by 10am as they then turn the rooms into hospitality boxes.. As far as I can remember you would then have to pay again for a hospitality suite & can be in there from around 1pm (we had one for the Blackpool game). Hope that helps.

I've stayed there a few of times to watch midweek games but never in a pitch view room cos they aren't available to get in to until really late. The rooms on the outside of the stadium where we stayed were actually quite nice although could have done with a serious clean on the second occasion. There's a microwave and fridge which we did use and a washing machine we didn't. Bed was quite comfortable too.
There was a package deal where you got a room and ticket but we never did that. Always wanted to book a pitch side room and the hospitality box during the match so we didn't have to move out. Sadly I remember the price being just a bit too high.

Stayed there once for mid week game and couldn't check in until an hour after d game the room smelt of food from having been turned into a corporate box while the game was on. I wrongly thought I book a pitch view room and watch d game from the room like a celebrity how wrong was I ha ha

Stayed there twice with pitch view room.
Last game of 05/06 (Cardiff). Allowed then to go into ground.Had a cup of tea in one of sky blue seats outside the patio doors at 6am . Watched the pitch being mown. It was great.
Also Gillingham return to Ricoh night. No longer allowed into the seats. Still fantastic feeling looking at the ground after the game. Felt so proud that night.
Both times were very good and decent value.

Used to do the match and room package regularly. it was a really good deal at about £80 for a room, breakfast, 2 match tickets, entry to the casino and a free drink. shame they don't do it any more.
you could even go have a walk around the edge of the pitch in the morning.

Its a shame they dont give rooms with the ability to watch the game. I spent November travelling Canada and the States and we had booked the Renaissance in Toronto which at the time of booking we didn't know was attached to the Rogers Centre (where the Bluejays and Argonauts play). When we arrived the kind lady behind the desk told us she'd upgraded our rooms to pitchside and although I must admit I really don't understand the entertainment value in NFL, we got some beers in and watched the Argonauts from our window which you could open pretty much fully to take in the atmosphere etc. Was a great experience and would be nice if you could do something similar at the Ricoh.

Stayed in it twice this year, for the Swindon game in January and the Crewe game in August.
Swindon game was a Monday night and we were there Sunday-Tuesday on that trip. As we were already checked in, it was freezing and Cov were playing shit, we decided to watch the last half hour in the room as we saw across the stand our area wasn't covered.
The second time was the Crewe game and we were checking in on the Tuesday, the day of the game. I got an e-mail saying you couldn't check in till an hour after kick off on match days, so we ended up getting moved to a non pitch side room as we didn't fancy hanging about till 11 when we had aspirations of visiting Cov's finest Tuesday nightspots.
From that, I drew that you can watch the game from your room if you have checked in before the day of the game. Was a pretty good experience, waking up to a pitch side view, but surprisingly the non pitch side room had better facilities.
Heading down to the Ricoh in March, undecided currently on whether to stay there or in the city centre as we always end up spending a bit on taxi's in and out.
