Its easily done, not just in the US. Bristol City and Bears don’t have an issue. Wasps came in and wanted to stamp their authority on the place and in doing so pushed us out making it not our home. Moving out badge to put theirs in place, making it much bigger, wasps branding everywhere, wasps adverts, their badge being bigger, their signs behind kiosks, over charging us for hospitality, kicking us out of hospitality, moving our fixtures around, not allowing us our own stewards, kicking us out 2 hours after full time etc. etc. etc.There's plenty of clubs who share who don't have that issue, particularly in the US. I don’t agree with the argument that we should go back at the earliest opportunity. This should be our final time outside of the city and the terms of any return should mean that we’re secure for years to come, this can’t come around again in a few years time. I don’t want to be paying half of our revenues to a London rugby club forever, if we’re of such value to the arena then we should be recognised as such by receiving our revenues and then taking some of the risks away. A part ownership model would be sensible if they weren’t leveraged in over their heads on it. Wasps will not be able to repay those bonds in less than two years and any refinancing will be on punishing terms, that’s when it will all come to a head.

As much as I hate Wasps, (read my posts!) In the tunnel/changing areas, on CCFC matchdays, there was a clever system that allowed CCFC to have branding (it was a massive team photo, crowd pictures and badges etc) all the way along both walls in the tunnel corridor. As Robins said we moved from a stadium we weren’t welcome at to one that we were welcome at. If Wasps want us back it also has to be Coventry City’s football stadium, not just Wasps’ rugby stadium that Coventry City play in.

If ACL went bust mid-season the administrators would be called in and they would need as much income as possible to pay creditors so we'd be fine. If ACL was then sold by the administrator our lease would remain in place.When we're playing at the Ricoh and ACL/Wasps goes bust mid-season how do we fulfill our fixtures? Do they leave us a key for the turnstiles or something?

If you could guarantee that Wasps are going to go bust or are going to clear off back to London then fine. The fact is that you cannot know with any certainty how long they will carry on for. If it is a war of attrition it will be costing the City as well as hurting Wasps. What if they don't go bust by Christmas? What if they are still alive and kicking this time next year and we are still not back in Coventry? Do we 'starve them out' for another year? If a new stadium was in sight then maybe you could say leave the Ricoh to Wasps. We all know any new stadium is probably fantasy and even if it somehow starts to be a possibility it is going to be years in the planning and building.It basically comes down to this again:

I very much used to agree with you, always said I'd never go to St Andrews but I caved in the end, always thought I'd give anything just to be back in Coventry. Honestly though, the thought of going back and propping up Wasps' finances makes me sick to my stomach.I hate wasps being in Cov, I hate that we are reliant on them having a change of heart in order for us to be back at the Ricoh but in my opinion we need to be back in Cov next sesaon so we can give MR and the team as much support as posdsible both financially and vocally (Covid permitting).
Who knows, with a bit of luck we might fluke promotion to the EPL and that would really be a game changer for the club.

You're probably right. My hatred of Wasps likely makes me irrational on the subject, but fuck me I hate Wasps.I'm not over the moon about it but I think it will be a bit soul destroying for Robins if we're still at St.Andrews with 8,000 home fans and 5 or 6,000 away supporters at our home games.

As Cranfield says they are both owned by Steve Lansdown and he is majorly bank rolling them. They used to own the Memorial ground which is now Bristol Rovers' home. but they had to sell it when in difficulties, Lansdown bought them and moved them to Ashton Gate and they are quite aggressively market from there under the 'Bristol Sport' umbrella. They share retail shops, ticketing operations and you can even get a joint season ticket for the two of them, never an issue with fixture clashing as they work with the EFL and RFU to ensure they are on opposite weekends or a TV fixture. I once saw Bears play on a Friday night game when the weather was terrible, rained non stop but the pitch was perfect for City to play the next day.How does it work in Bristol, is it owned by City and the bears a tenants?
