I’ve a gut feeling that we will be playing back at the Ricoh next season – some fans are saying it was already a done deal others are saying nothing has cahnged in Wasps stance so we wilol still be palying at Birmingham. Are ther indications that e will be? fistly thoughts are that we are not really known of late to splash 1.3 million on a player – Looks like we are going to offer O’Hare a decent contract and he will want paying a competitive salary to keep him – Comments of late from the management of CCFC including Joy Seppala all point to playing back at the Ricoh

I'd be shocked if we aren't back there, it just makes so much sense for all parties involved.

What we have to make sure of (and personally I have every faith in Dave boddy and his team doing this) is that the deal is beneficial to us as a club for however long we are there. We need a cut of everything and we need assurances on the quality of the pitch amongst other things.

I am desperate to get back to cov but it has to be on the right terms otherwise all the good work that has been done over the last few years will be very quickly undone.

I trust Wasps assurances as far as I could throw them. They’re skint, they won’t upkeep the pitch. Do we really want to go back to that ?

Starve the fuckers out

I think if we can get a deal where we pay for and did the upkeep of the pitch and that come off the price of the rent would be good

Never mind as I said second hand info but I have a feeling it’s accurate.

Surely it is a case of us paying £x per annum in the proviso that
  • Pitch is to agreed standard (i.e paying rent to a landlord, they need to ensure upkeep);
  • x% (whatever CCFC deem fair) of matchday revenue streams; and
  • Nothing else.
Otherwise, if Wasps do not want our money, it is another year in Birmingham.

I know it seems that way to us mate but in reality there would be about 20 variables to discuss and negotiate. Once things get put down on paper it gets ridiculous...

Before any commercial/pitch negotiations begin CCFC have to establish if Wasps' stance has shifted on indemnity.

If not, then discussing the above actions will be a waste of time.

Cathedral offer to help Sky Blues return to Ricoh Arena

Pretty certain should anyone wish to pick up the phone and talk to Mr Eastwood at wasps he would confirm that they are always happy to talk to see if an agreement can be sorted. I’m not what that means in terms of the indemnity though

It would be great to be back and I doubt Wasps can afford to keep arguing about it so it’s more than possible. However if we have to play next season behind closed doors can’t see the point. May as well play anywhere else and fuck Wasps. Unless of course it’s so ridiculously cheap compared to other options it makes the best sense economically for the club.

If I was the WASP owner I'd be chasing down CCFC now to find a deal. I'd want their 18-20k average attendees spending at the Ricoh, using the bars, the casino et al. Plus some 500k smackers in rent and other sundry additions. Hell I'd paint the changing rooms Sky Blue. I'd get my stdium sponsorship deal for several million now and look forward to increased rent each year potentially, even a stab at huge increase if CCFC get promoted. Well what's not to like. I'll even give them share of match day revenues from all concessions. can't wait!

Depends on whether the Council and Lord (Mayoress) "over my dead body" Lucas will allow Wasps to do it or not....

It's all very well offering practical help, but where is the cathedral when we need imaginary help in the form of prayers and thoughts?

Oh I agree with you, I have seen contracts, and they can be ridiculously long, but it is a belt and braces approach in all business dealings... my post was more Janet & John... or should that be Cov Telegraph!

Dave Boddy said it would form part of the negotiations.

Is it me or have we had less serious injuries this year playing on a decent pitch?

Any new deal is likely to be the most detailed yet given Wasps past behaviour. My understanding is that in the past there's been no detail on things such as matchday costs as that was considered outside the scope and was traditionally recharged to the club at cost.

However since Wasps arrived they've decided its an area they can profit off the club in. To give an example take the hospitality packages, the club used to be invoiced for what had been used on a matchday. That changed to being charged as if every game was sold out.

There certainly needs to be a commitment from Wasps to have a pitch that is up to standard. IMO also needs to be a penalty if it isn't otherwise its pointless. Maybe an independent assessor and if it falls below a certain standard the rent is reduced.

I’m pretty happy saying that wasps have repeatedly said they are willing to talk about an agreement with the Eu complaint out there and the indemnity out there. They are just parts of the conversation

Is that not a waste of everyone's time? Spend weeks / months agreeing a deal and you've still got the problem of the indemnity. Surely that is going to be the first question from Boddy and if the answer is that they won't drop the demand anything else is pointless.

Fair point. I’m just trying to say just cause there are challenges and barriers it’s a pretty stupid business that doesn’t make an agreement to ensure millions of extra pounds revenue from another business because they might not do everything they say. I know it’s more complex than that of course

The only talks that should happen now are around the indemnity, if they are willing to drop it we will continue discussions when we know fans will be allowed back.

Let them sweat it out not knowing where their next penny is coming from and the knowledge that they've effectively caved on their indemnity clause

It basically comes down to this again:

If Sisu drop the legals Blah blah blah

like others have said starve them out. They’ll be gone by Christmas and the wicked Witch will begin her term with an elephant In the top. The size of a football stadium.

And this is where we need the local media to press wasps on the fact that the legals (that don't actually exist but I'll humour them) can't be dropped as it's a complaint... The telegraph and cwr have been such an utter disgrace in this whole situation they should hang their heads in shame (Whilst waving their wasps flags of course)
