There's a car boot at the Ricoh tomorrow (Sunday 13th) so in addition to selling some very reasonably priced 'pre loved' household items, I'll take along ePetition leaflets and be taking orders for kcic t-shirts. See you there 6am onwards!

Michael, I went to the Ricoh car boot this morning. It was rubbish, hardly anyone there and they charged £1 to get in! Not only do they over charge our club they over charge for a poxy car boot. Anyway, the most exciting thing that happened was your KCiC stand falling over. I helped the girl on the stall pick it up. Went on to Stoneleigh, much busier there. Amazingly picked up a nice copy of Boys Keep Swinging by the Associates too.

Well he could always lie and say it was packed, and he had a whale of a time.

Seriously, acl could have a naked ladies mud wrestling competition up there and the usual few suspects(that ive noticed on here) would find something to complain about. Nothing that they could put on up there would be good enough for some on here.

I don't care what acl do, I haven't been up there since we left. I don't however jump on everything they put on and try and pull hole's in it.

You're jumping on a minor complaint and pulling holes in it here.

Torch is officially a Very Kind Man and I will never have a word said against him on this forum again! My decision to do Ricoh not Stoneleigh wasn't the best and I'd wandered off leaving my daughter on the stall. Came back to her saying the rail had blown over but a very kind man had helped her put it back together - if only I'd known it was Torch!

Fill in your own jokes about the Ricoh being cold, poorly attended and lacking atmosphere. But the really depressing bit was talking to - don't know if Torch spotted them - the team related stall holder who was there?

Fair pay to you Michael, I am not exactly into the car boot thing but would have popped over even to show my support. Am sure anything that goes on at the Ricoh will be a slow start but they will get bigger and better.

Did you not get a load of people trying to haggle you to 50p?

I see the New Boy is getting his knickers in a twist again. I don't care how much you start crying over it, charging £1 to get into a car boot with a bout ten stalls is disgusting probably contributes to its unpopularity. The one at Stone charges half that and was rammed.

It was like the parking there for the footy. £10 a time. In all the away games I've been to the most I've paid is £3. They're pricing themselves out of the market.

My pleasure, Michael. I was looking for you but didn't see you around. We were only there for five minutes before going on to Stoneleigh. I would certainly go to that one next time, it was packed.

Personally, I don't know why you'd charge anyone to go into a car boot sale. The stall holders pay for the pitch, the best way to get a decent attendance is surely to charge nowt? Old Coventrians (A45/Tile Hill Lane) usually have a respectably sized one going from May, fwiw - free entry I believe.

I'm all for ACL making a few bob, but I'm not sure this is really the way forward!

Fair play to Kcic though even going after the Anorak car boot brigade for support !!

To be fair, isn't it usually the boot sale organiser that charges? If I remember it's the same people who used to do them at Leamington rugby club, I remember seeing a sign saying moving.

FWIW the KCIC t-shirts are really good quality (better than the ususal 'fruit of the loom' type t-shirts most of these companies use). My only gripe is that the colour of the shirt isn't exactly sky blue, although it's just about close enough.

Look, I totally understand where you're coming from; ACL can't charge enough. I get that, I really do.

Howevr, take Peterborough on Saturday for example. After paying petrol to get there, paying £25 for my ticket (football at our level shouldn't cost that much), £12 for my seven-year-old, it was a nice surprise only to be charged £3 to park.

]Maybe, do ACL give them the space for free? Anyway, whatever way it's worked out there was hardly anything there so they're no doing themselves any good.

I take the point entirely on the car parking charges at the Ricoh for matchdays, but I suppose there's an element of supply and demand here.

In truth Torchy, if it was the club rather than ACL running the car parks I suspect that the charges would be similar. If so, would it still upset you? I guess what I'm asking is whether it's the cost itself or where the money goes that bothers you.

Fwiw, Access to the Ricoh was always a personal gripe of mine - it's one of the things that would stop me taking my (relatively young kids), the thought that I'd have to march them a fair distance from the nearest reasonably priced car park (The Hub) to the ground. Ah, it looks kind of trivial that, now....

I'm starting to realise why I could always park in Tesco now, everyone else seemed to either not turn up because of lack of parking or pay elsewhere!

Never paid once for parking at a City game.

Yes, it would annoy me whoever was running it, ACL, another company or even CCFC. £10 to park is a rip-off, but so it £25 to see a third tier game at Peterborough. I get the supply and demand bit, I really do.

Yes, getting to the Ricoh was attrocious and having the go down to the island and double-back on yourself for the first six years was madness. If they build those hotels on Car Park C then parking will be even worse for when we do (hopefully) return.

I know after a 5am start yesterday I'm still weary but I don't get this post. Is it a 'you're a sisu employee' one? I've been getting a few 'you're going soft on sisu' emails recently so always helpful to clarify
