Who on here, seriously, without it being used as a dig against Sisu, thinks that ACL will make far more money without the football club playing at the Ricoh?

If so, please give your serious reasons why you think so.

The Ricoh can make a profit wothout CCFC. With concerts like Springsteen, Muse etc.

They will have to do it on a regular basis imo.

Also if CCFC are gone i can see them adding a roof for flexability.

Also last weekend was a religious convention, the place was full.

People forget its a multi purpose arena the city can be proud of.

For me it will lose alot without CCFC. But may gain in other areas. As they wont have to juggle things around CCFC games. Such a shame the whole mess!

I find that hard to believe. Apart from the obvious few hours before and after each game when they see a big increase in customers (where money is largely spent at the bar and nowhere else), being underneath the "home of Coventry City" doesn't really do much for Casino revenue/profits. I go there regularly and there is always a healthy amount of people in there (especially on Friday & Saturday nights) and it is home to some of the biggest and best poker tournaments and events in the country.

I doubt G Casino would really care if Coventry City never came back.

Ricoh could offer to stage a couple of big boxing events, the site fees the promoters would pay would cover most of the losses from CCFC.

Something like Froch V Groves would sell 35000 tickets no probs.

They seemed to manage last season without Sisu paying any rent.

I don't understand that, 10k turn up every 2 weeks and how many use the casino. A couple of hundred at most, sorry I don't believe it.

2,000 + people extra in there every fortnight on match days makes a difference

I'm not debating it makes a different and for those few hours before and after the game I'm sure the casino are grateful for the extra money, but there is no way in hell the casino would pack up and leave should Coventry never return. Trust me, its one of the best and biggest casinos in the country outside of London.

You could be right but its going to have to do without City isnt it even if they offered it to Sisu its too late because they're building their own ground remember Tim said they've moved on

Remember that without CCFC they will have to remove the pitch and but a roof on the Ricoh in order to turn it into a multi-purpose venue to compete with the NEC which has excellent motorway links AND a railway station. Good luck with that!

As PWKH has already said, they will need to build a hotel in order to compete with the NEC.

Will properly get it quicker now so that they CAN compete with the NEC. Also less chance of the trains being wrecked by away fans. Shit NO chance we play in NT now

Forget the Ricoh, how are we going to get any revenue at Sixfields? Ignoring the NOPM campaign for a moment, there is a lower capacity stadium waiting for us with no guarantees that we're going to get any of the F&B revenue/car parking/pitchside advertising. We've got lower ticket prices but higher costs/longer travel for most to get there so that acts as a disincentive for fans to travel there. Then there's the club shop or rather the lack of a club shop at Sixfields unless they're going to wheel the barrow there.

Then you factor in the NOPM campaign and it starts to look like a financial black hole. However I'm sure Young Timothy will pull something out of the hat.
