I always new Simon Gilbert was a sisu plant, oh wait he's an acl plant.

Seems like a missed opportunity for ACL, as is mentioned they offer cheaper prices for other games there, so why not this one. It may be they have got something else on which is offering more money, I doubt it though.

Not at all. it's a business and £5000 to stage a football match sounds about right for the hire of a world class arena

The match is a Birmingham County FA ladies game. Maybe they set their target to high.

Realistically do they need a 32500 seater stadium to stage this match.

At least they're not sexist.

4 times as much as another stadium. Says it all.

Yeah, I know. Leave me to wind people up will you. It's Friday

£5k is too much for 'basic pitch hire' I think.

£5000 x 23 matches =£115k

Plus maybe a few cup matches including JPT and league and fa cup.

£150k sounds fair and I believe this was offered as ACLs last offer to the club which ccfc rejected.

I don't know why ccfc rejected when they pay that or the rumoured £170k or a shed in Northampton 35 miles away.

Shrewd business people these hedgefunders.

Tbf I think £5000 for a ladies final is a bit rich as it keeps the cov teams in Cov and would gain more supporters for the teams and Ricoh no doubts. For the sake of halving it to 2,500k seems a bit silly to me. Though get what you pay for 5k for the Ricoh or £1k for the bescot. Like a pair of jeans from primark or a pair of Armani's really.

Have they not had some ladies games there before this season?

Can't imagine they would have charged £5k for those too.

With matchday costs the amount was allegedly closer to £400,000 excluding police stewards St Johns etc.

Yes it is believed to. The debate is "matchday" costs was rent under another name and changed with each offer.

Makes sense really, match days costs, police etc must be a lot higher for 12k fans, as opposed to 2.5k.

All charges crowd related - police, St Johns and stewarding are not included in match day costs.

In the real world please people !!
Match day costs -
Sixfields for 1500 people = peanuts
Ricoh for 13,000 people = A lot higher than sixfields.
Wembley for 80,0000 people = A lot higher than the Ricoh.

That is not an answer. You have stated the extra costs are due to higher crowds. What made you draw that conclusion?

Also in the three offers ACL made to the club in revised terms would you expect match day costs to be the same.

People accuse me on here of all sorts of things. This is why. People do not debate properly. Back up your answer.

The club pay for police.

What matchday costs will be different? Cleaners, energy bills for the concourse only (and corp), trying to think what others

Pitch and flood lights etc will be the same

So when it suited the stadium operators to run games at the stadium to try and harm the club further they were offered reduced rates, interesting that.....

Once Sisu have built their stadium they will be able to offer cheap prices for these type of events.

Does anybody know if the new stadium will have conference facilities as I can't see how it can pay for itself on 20 odd games a season?

Surely basic pitch-hire should be the same whoever it is?

Isn't it £1500 for Leicester reserves?

Rather have Leicester than Coventry teams playing there from the looks of it.

Why charge so much?!?! To me - It's different if an external business wants to rent the pitch but two small teams from Coventry? Everything should be at cost value.

Yes. And that development side FootballCV Reds have signed up to play next season. Seriously doubt they are paying £5k a match.

Looks to me like they wanted to appear sort after for a while, offering all and sundry low deals. But now reverting back to their standard.
