Used to play for Nottingham Forest :joyful:Whats this hobsons choice
Ricketts wasn't a leader as captain for us I certainly wouldn't see him as an inspiring manager. If slade does go we need an experienced manager for our league two promotion campaignThought I would post this before the Wimbledon match. Defeat I believe would put relegation almost certain that's if it isn't already. Russell Slade has made no difference since he joined not won a league match and produced some atrocious football, add to that his signings apart from Beavon none have proved better than what we had. As I see it there's little or no future here for Russell Slade. So where do we go ? Limp along until May or act now remove Slade and bring in another, that brings me to Sam Ricketts, yes I know all about he has no managerial experience but he is young, played at all levels of pro football and he's here now, knows the players most of whom will need replacing. Let's give him from now until May see what he can offer, has to be a better option than what we are getting currently incidently from a manager with so called management experience !
I know we see ourselves as a "big" club but we are what we are now, a soon to be FOURTH division outfit we fans must grasp that reality.
I wish it was Hobknobs choice, then we'd at least end up with a biscuit.Whats this hobsons choice
Our fans will not accept his style of football
Once again we write a manager off after, what, a month and a half?
We write a manager off who has a track record of getting failing clubs, such as Grimsby, Orient, Yeovil... going in the right direction.
What does this say about *our* club?
Why do we always, *always* fall into the trap of deciding changing the manager will solve everything? All that does is let off those who create the conditions for a manager to fail.
Nor has Slade to be fairLet Slade have the rest of the season unless we find the guy who is going to be given time and resources to rebuild the club in his image.
Really don't understand why Ricketts is suddenly the great hope of CCFC. He's done literally nothing as a manager.
Why Ricketts? Is there anything to suggest he is even still with us in some sort of coaching role?
Most clubs fail, however. It says we act like other clubs.

I'd still argue Exeter are a damned site better off under Tisdale then if they'd rushed to sack him. At a higher level, there's a very real risk for Arsenal that they don't appreciate how good they have it now.
If we *must* sack managers, we need to have the confidence in the overall strategy to employ similar. We jump from type to type, with no thought to the long term. Pressley was building a youth system, but then his replacement went for loans ahead of all else. Now we have a bloke who's desperately short term, and completeky opposed to Mowbray in philosophy.
So how does a club build and grow, when it doesn't know what it's supposed to be doing?
It's a good question, whys he still here? He would of had a playing contract and as soon as he said I'm retired that would be void.
So he's not a over paid ball boy that helps in the warm ups before games, surely he's not even on the payroll now.
Ask yourself why he's here......
My question, though, is....IS he still here?????
Yes.
He helps warms up players on a match day. Collects the balls and cones in prior to kick off
Neither, I'd much rather Andy Morrell or John Eustace . Basically a manager with a few successful seasons at a lower level & maybe with a link to the club.
