Not saying that the funding of Hamer is true, but isn't that similar to how we managed to buy Keane? I know it was pre-WHU when third party ownership was banned but I don't recall anyone ever saying that Keane was owned by a third party - the money was loaned to the club to do so. Then the person funding it got told we could sell for £13m and ordered the club to sell him so he could get a profit? I'm sure if we'd heard such-and-such has paid for Keane we'd have been saying what an excellent and top bloke they were at the time.

Overson doesn't seem like the kind of person who would do that but I still think it's best to be naturally cautious of arrangments of this nature.

Fair play to him for the donation too. Would be lovely to have the money to be able to make such gestures.

Not sure whether it's true or not regarding Hamer but I do have knowledge of people closely associated with the club helping the club purchase players in the past. Micky Quinn being one, and the loan fee for Adam Armstrong being the other. So certainly plausible that he may of at least made a contribution.

Just seen the Dunchurch CCFC Supporters club have donated £5,600 in the last hour. Wow. Is that linked to any specific individual?

I can think of one person who might be involved with the Dunchurch lot - they're usually not popular around these parts

Can see Overson having a part ownership of the club one day when SISU eventually decide enough is enough and sell up (which I do believe they will)

I don't think so, I think it makes far more sense for him not having the liability tbh

Nah, because it might be nothing to do with them, after all!

Someone who lives around there is often mentioned in dispatched, though.

Incredible generosity. Well done to all involved there. With regards to Robbie Keane Geoffrey Robinson paid for most of that transfer. What happened to the money after he was sold has always been disputed but I’m sure most have a fair idea on who pocketed it.

Mary Mungo Midge laid on coaches to matches from Rugby at one point? He's been persona non grata on here for a while now.

Then again Hackney also lived in Rugby

If MMM also used to be the landlord at the Avon Mill in Rugby (coaches used to go from the Avon Mill years ago) then I might be the bearer of bad news. I was told a little while ago from another Rugby based CCFC fan that he’d heard (all third hand I know so I can’t verify if it’s true or not) that the landlord who used to arrange the coaches from the Avon Mill had passed away. Apologies in advance if it turns out to be untrue.

Got ya. IIRC the Avon Mill landlord was known as Mac now you say that they’re not the same person. Didn’t really know the AM landlord past ordering a pint of Guinness and handing him some money to use the coach on a handful of occasions.
