Funny how the "old school" method has worked wonders and the new stat driven iPad era has failed to deliver.

I’m not claiming that’s not true but correlation does not equal causation. Can’t believe that needs saying really.

It's the same as using the blue tracksuits as some kind of disparagement. The same blue tracksuit Robins was wearing.

I don't think anybody is stuck in the 80s , but many fans have seen a huge change over a short period and along with that the dismissal of one of the clubs greatest managers .

Not every club is flourishing with the new methods and even a club like arsenal have gone back to a managers role over a head coach role .

Football is an ever changing landscape but that doesn't mean we all have to follow along especially as so far it's seen us go backwards

Think people are ignoring robins quotes about the coaching setup. The ones where he says he was planning how it would work while interviewing them.

It's fucking weird.

Well seen as he's gone well be getting rid of the coaching set up he implemented which has been a failure won't we?
Oh wait, the new man has to work with it! Strange that!

We can’t get rid of the coaching staff as all their iPads are on a 2 year lease and DK doesn’t wanna waste the money

Why is King keeping the failed coaching structure the manager he just sacked implemented?

I assume it's to have a framework in the club.

It's amazing how everything has failed apart from robins.

If we sign somebody shit it was the recruitment teams but if it's a hamer he uncovered them.

Arsenal have gone back to the usage of the word manager - but the back room stuff remains. Arteta oversee that all.

robins regularly said we needed this stuff, it supports whoever’s in charge. The structure change hasn’t seen us go backwards. I’d imagine the loss of two of the finest players the league has seen has done that.

Whether people like it or not the facilities available are now big pulls for better players and coaches. Players want this all this in place.

now maybe as you’ve said we’ve done this too quickly. Too quickly for Robins to adapt maybe. We as a club have been 20 years behind in terms of the training ground and back room. The game is open to the world now, and just for one man it’s too much.

Man Utd themselves have alluded to this and have put in all sorts of teams behind the scenes in order to move forward - again to the detriment of the previous incumbent.

there’s also the forward planning aspect of it all. Losing a manager once meant you had to replace an entire team and coaching staff. This led to the short termism in football.

Liverpool should be struggling but the profile and DNA in the club being matched with the manager/head coach has led to a smooth transition.

our big blue print Brighton operates the same way as do Brentford. That’s who we’re looking at. And that’s what we’re looking to emulate

Strange thing to get worked up about.

We were probably going to lose tomorrow anyway, what difference does it make whether we lose it with Rhys Carr or George Boateng in charge.

Clue is in the title - interim!

So you keep the failing framework implemented by the man you sacked and insist the new coach has to work with it.
Do you know how ridiculous that sounds.

Wonder why he was chose to step up?
One of the back room staff who doesn’t appear to have played professional level, and his LinkedIn page makes interesting reading - claims transfer fees of over £150m, and experienced with Premier League, Champions League and International level, yet his ‘experience’ lists none of those, unless Swansea and Cardiffs time in the Premier League counts as ‘international’ (both just out of the screen shot)

Yeah, whatever happens tomorrow really has no bearing on who's in charge for 1 game.

How involved was MR with this recruitment and interview process?
From what I can remember of the quotes at the time Doug and Dr.Roberts seem to have interviewed?
I'm sure MR gave them a Person Spec he was looking for, but I'm not sure he had much influence on the individuals appointed.

Yeah, but how you going to use an iPad to try and motivate players and gee them up and show passion?

Fine for tactics, but no good for team talks and adjustments is it and communicating with the players during the game.

If a player wants to shout something over to the bench, will they use Alexa to give an answer?

if we're talking 'how many players have we signed that we could sell for £10-15m since Doug came in', I'd say Wright and MVE for sure. Others might get there but the jury is out - Simms maybe, Torp if he steps up.

Remember that Hamer played to that level for 2/3 of a season. He was nowhere near that for the seasons before. Wright and MVE were close to that level in their first season which you'd expect for the fees paid.

You will just make things up in your head.

I've said the framework will be staying and that it was clearly seen as robins failing.

All people have is that they have ipads and tracksuits to say they are bad coaches.

What happens next will be telling.

Answer the question, why are we keeping things in place that the failed manager introduced?
Why did Robins do away with things that had served him well previously?

Because the club was trying to improve everything from what we had?

It's all been explained about the structure and the whys.

Still, robins was here with a gun to his head and everything was against his will and all the bad stuff wasn't anything to do with him. That's what you want to hear, right?
