I heard a rumour today at work about the £590k monies owed to ACL and wondered if anyone else had heard the same thing???

ACL would put pressure on the FL if they never made the club pay back all monies owed. This is why it was made a condition of the club receiving the Golden Share. However, the money had already been paid to ACL by Geoffery Robinson and Mike Mcginnity as rent guarantors during the administration period. If this is the case, has ACL informed the FL that they had already received settlement of this debt?

If this is true, how can you try and claim monies owed from two sources for the same debt? Is that even legal?

Like I said, this was a rumour heard in the canteen at work today and could be complete bollox.

Maybe Simon Gilbert can do some digging and ask ACL if they have received monies owed from Robinson and Mcginnity???

Funnily enough if this was a thread about some obscure mediocre full back sending shock waves around America that he is available on a free you'd be joined by many endorsing your view as clearly 100% fact.

This, however, will be ignored even though its far more relevant and worth discussion.

The figure of £590k rings a bell.....was this not the amount due to be repaid in respect of overcharged rates?

Well its certainly no less likely than the bullshit that Christie is off to America or that he wanted to stay and money doesn't matter.

I believe it is what the club had to pay ACL after the rejection of the CVA.

Simple question. If this debt had already been settled by the guarantors, then why are ACL still chasing payment of it from the club?

In answer to the OP. I think if that was the case ML would have been talking about this the other week and not about how the banking system is unreliable so it won't be their fault if the money is late.

He clearly said that they would instruct the bank to pay it when they're supposed to, it's then down to the bank.

I'm sure the ever so balanced journalist Simon will be hot on the case and I'm sure Peter "he lets us know what's going on" will be clarifying the situation.

From what ML and TF were saying they owed this money and would pay it.

I am sure they are not stupid enough to pay it twice then again who knows?

I will ask the question tomorrow.

Did always wonder(and did ask on here) why Robinson wasn't chased for the owed rent money as always understood he was the guarantor for rent.

Maybe he was.

Would still be owed to him I suppose though.

No you'll take it as an acceptance of some total crap on here as fact and totally ridiculing rumours from other sources that ruin the sugar coated image of dear old ACL.

Would he not have been guarantor for CCFC Ltd, the company that no longer exists?

Nothing to do with otium and their agreement with the FL.

Cyrus Christie has agreed terms with the Washington Wanklepackers for a fee of £590k, and Wanklepacker owner Preston Knathbull Heskey IV is hoping to see his team play at the Ricoh in a pre season friendly against Coventry City United

I'm sure that nobody on here thinks that ACL are "sugar coated", just far less culpable than your beloved Shitzu!

Why would our beloved Champaign Socialist MP pay a debt that he wasn't being chased for?

A: Because it hasn't been paid.

The clue is in your OP. Rumour in the canteen at work. A second clue is in all of the press coverage on this, the stuff where Otium accept they will pay the debt but then waffle on about two timeframes and banking mechanisms, and the dog eating their homework etc.

What if the rumor wasn't a rumor and was actually true, where would that leave ACL? Surely not in a good light?

Haven't they got until the 31st May to get the money together and pay it?

Good job season tickets have been selling so well....

I guess by Saturday we will find out if it is true or not then. Or Simon can ask ACL the question beforehand

I would have thought they could be found guilty of massive fraud if it was true.

Do you not think that Robinson would have told someone he has paid it though? Why would he keep it secret?

According to Labovitch it might be a bit later because apparently transferring money between banks is a really difficult thing to do. You need bank accounts with money in and everything.

That's the problem. There is a bank account but no money is it.

I still think the 590k will be used as a bargaining tool somehow. It won't be paid before may ends I assure you that.

For once I agree with you Ron, we would have heard about this by now, sisu nor Robinson have any reason to keep this quiet.

It existed for the whole time that the club wasn't paying rent, the guarantee should have kicked in immediately it wasn't paid and the Escrow account cleared I'd have thought.

Me too. That's what guarantors do. They pay when the creditor defaults. Hence the word "guarantee". So question is "IF they were guarantors, why didn't the guarantee kick in?".

Is the £590K. for something totally different to the shortfall between the Escrow and £300k matchday fees paid for one year?

More a pence in the pound settlement for the remainder of the 43 yr lease.
