was just thinking back to a couple of really great memories from recent years,

The first was the opening game of last season, Mowbray had just committed to the club by signing an extended contract, we'd had a terrible pre-season in which I want to say we didn't win a game ? And then up first was Wigan, just relegated, there chairman bounding about statements of "we should win the league by Christmas" and then what I saw that day was nothing short of magical. We played football, the right way, the basics were all right, we were passing, it was high tempo, we were closing down and we won that game 2-0. My uncle came with me to that game, he's a Spurs fan, he turned to me at full time and said "this team is going places" and for once I honestly believed that to be the case.

The second was the two games I took my Mrs to last season, she'd never been to a game before, the first I took her to was Peterborough at home, 2-0 down at half time and won 3-2, the atmosphere was amazing, I remember hugging a complete stranger next to me when the 3rd goal went in. The other thing I remember about that day was I'd put a post on Facebook that morning saying it was my mrs first game with a picture of us on the train down from Norfolk, I reckon between 5-10 fans stopped us that day and said hello because they'd seen her picture, one even gave her his programme as a memento of her first game, she was blown away by the generosity and kindness of the fans, I explained it isn't all Football Factory and fighting and she loved it, so much so that she came with me again to......

Bury at home. What a game. 6 shots on target, 6 goals, and I want to say it was legends day ? Straight down the casino after the game to meet some of my heroes and we stayed at the Ricoh hotel. What a fantastic day.

My final one from last season was Blackpool away, travelled from Norfolk with 3 mates the day before the match and the place was full of Cov fans, it was amazing, an atmosphere like I'd never seen before. Cov fans filled the pubs for 3 days. And it just so happened to be my birthday. I don't remember much of the game if I'm honest but the weekend was great.

What are your stand out memories from recent times ?

Winning the top of the table clash against Gillingham last year with Murphy bagging the hat-trick. That was the game that convinced me we were finally going to have a good season.

With SISU taking the club into a terminal decline, memories will soon be all we have left.

Last season, I was following a game via this forum.
I forget which game it was but we were winning comfortably, so I went to make a cup of tea.
By the time I came back a few minutes later, we had scored 2 more goals.

We'd basically be alright if we just played Gillingham and Peterborough at home all the time.

Yeah this isn't the "What memories do you have that are now tarnished due to our current predicament" thread

This thread was purely to talk about your stand out Games and memories. Regardless what's happened since nobody can take away me being stood down the casino after the 6-0 win on legends day and the genuine hope and buzz that I had at that time

I think it was about 2014 when we beat 3-2 against Preston in the JPT. That was a classic cup tie under the cosh at the end and conceding the late goal (I actually think that was Beavon!) but we scored two goals in stoppage time. Don't remember it being that full but what an atmosphere at the end. Come out of there buzzing!

That was pretty special, we may have signed Maguire permanently if Robins had still been in charge
