David Nugent is still only 36? I thought he'd be pushing 40 now

Some clubs have released that many players they're probably going to struggle to raise a full matchday squad at the minute, Preston for example

Hardly any of that lot jump out at me I hope they have been prudent with their footballers salaries going to be tough finding new clubs for a lot of them,
Half our division haven’t announced theirs yet and none out the premier.

Interesting to see just how many of them have played for us at one time of another. Anyone brave enough to attempt this?

I can see this year more than ever a lot of late deals being done as players start to get desperate, also a lot of those players are going to have a reality check salary wise. Can’t wait to see the Derby one

There will be a pool of out of work players bobbing about i reckon there will be players coming in and out on short contracts even as a little of a month or two at a time, bit like casual labour. clubs can’t afford large squads anymore, we can’t.

Nice to see Wycombe are trying to progress by try to get the lump contracted again after his massively successful season in the championship 35 games 1 goal (a penalty) we have defenders that are more prolific than him.

Dave Boddy thought there’s be some slight reduction in wages but not a lot at our level. I wonder if he’s just being cautious or whether we are aiming at a level of wage for a player that is already low enough not to affected. So below £10k a week at most and not for all. I’m certain Robins and Boddy know what they are able to offer and what is acceptable for the players we will want to get in way before 1st July when players return

We’ll have 26 in our first team squad like last year and what is allowed under the new rules. All teams will have at least that many

Pretty uninspiring list, can't see any players I would have here. Even wouldn't take Walsh with a year of no football

There will be some reduction in wages as players won’t be able to use teams like Derby to inflate their wages. I think we will go early on our deals but a lot of teams will leave it right until the start of the season especially in the lower leagues.

Jermaine Defoe may be available this summer, even at 38, he'd piss all over our current crop.

Scott Dann and Gary Cahill available.

I think once this season is over there will be rule changes certainly in the EFL possibly wage capping there’s been talk of changes to the loan system too football authorities are under government pressure now to get their house in order. It has gone a bit quiet lately but there are still a good few EFL clubs very much on the edge of survival.

Bung him in on a make weight deal should Rangers step in as rumoured for Hamer.

It's going to be a buyer's market
Only the best players who are wanted by more than one club are likely to be in a strong position in their contract negotiations

Yeah but that will literally leave more space for Max to get a lower level club!!

It really has. Only 30 as well. Having said that I thought he looked really good against us in the first game albeit we only had 10 men.

Hiwula released by Pompey today. They've also released Andy Cannon who a number of their fans thought was their player of the season.

I'd rather have Bobby Ball. He's dead.

Remember when people were begging us to sign Dan Crowley in Jan? Released by Blues after starting one of Hull's last 13 games...

Indeed. Robins was a "Muppet" apparently for not signing Crowley & Gnanduillet.
One that couldn't get a game in League One & one who struggled in the Scottish 2nd tier.
