It has been nice to finally part-take in some threads that involve players in / out, potential deals and some optimism (not shared by all) going into the new season.
Realistically we all knew players were going to go. A youngster (Bigi) & Keogh (who wasn't going to extend his deal) look likely to be decent business as SISU have done something that we perhaps didn't expect. Finally giving AT the opportunity to bring in some fresh faces.
Time will tell just how many faces SISU will allow AT to bring in, and how right AT gets it with the team for next season. He is still working on a very tight budget, but we knew that already and if we can compete for promotion next season, it will be the most exciting season that we have had since we were relegated. It got tiring never competing in the Championship and one thing is clear, momentum can take you not only out of L1 but up out of the Championship too.
I for one am looking forward to the new season, lets hope that Keogh will be the last man sold and 3-4 new faces come in to give us a fighting chance of getting out first time. PUSB
There are plenty of things that our owners haven't been forgiven for. I wasn't happy at all that Gael was sold but I am allowed to be optimistic about a new challenge as I'm fed up of moping about being depressed waiting for a takeover that will never happen.
I think he'd have been our player of the year and quadruple in value, bet hey ho, we'll never know. I'll hate them forever for it though. If kids who love the club aren't even going to get a couple of seasons playing for us-giving more than any senior players do-I give up. And from a business point of view, we must be specialising in veal as we don't bother fattening our calves.
I was going to go with the theory that the paint was for the fence they'd just sold, but yeah, they just used it on their offices instead as, to imaginably quote Tim Fisher, "Well, we don't have a fence that needs painting now, so there's not much point.."
