Odd today, love the new rulings with time wasting, kicking the ball away etc , a real breath of fresh air. Only odd one is the manhandling in the box that needs sorting out , the 3 consecutive corners 2nd half were embarrassing, how did Swansea get away with that? Would have been interesting to see what would happened if Eccles actually delivered one into the 6 yard box which he failed to do , the only blight on a good performance.

I thought Fadz was gonna kill someone.

I thought the ref was a bit shit and the Lino was a dickhead.

Wasn’t a great performance from the ref, not surprising given his recent record.

Eccles on set pieces though is hopefully a short term thing. Had a couple of half decent corners but everything else was woeful. Guess we’ve spoilt with Hamer’s deliveries for the past 3 years so hopefully his replacement will have that in his armory

Ref was absolutely dog shit.

Their striker made about 4 yellow card challenges.

Saka got cleaned out, no booking.

Some weird decisions given as well.

The officials were not at fault for our performance.

I think Sakamoto went down a little bit too early for the officials to give him free kicks - that’ll come as he adapts to the league and footballing culture.

To hear the person behind me say ‘it’ll be hard to beat that ref as the worst this season,’ was OTT.

Pretty sure MR hasn’t said anything about the officiating which tells a bit of a story itself.

I agree with a lot of this.

Some decisions were bizarre definitely, but I felt Sakamoto was just a bit bullied at times and didn't stand up to it well. The one stand out exception to that was some point in the second half where he got cleared out to the right where we were looking. Was absolutely blatant but the ref didn't give it. Couldn't help thinking it was because the ref had told him to get up so many times that even when something actually happened, it was like he didn't believe it.

What about when he nearly got his head taken off?

How easy were their players going down?

Where their player kicked it out and he gave a goal kick?

They did go over very easy which made some of the fouls on our players not given even more frustrating. I'm all over the timewasting directives but the standard is still generally poor, can't see the point in linos nowadays as they don't make decisions full stop even when faced with blatant fouling on corners, the one on Kelly as he was running into the box at the corner was ridiculous.

Yeah Kelly gets rugby tackled.

Then he basically waited for one of our players to breath near theirs to blow his whistle.

That’s not true he made a call that Thomas let the ball go out for a corner.

The consequence of nobody wanting to ref is that you have to promote people who probably aren’t good enough. Though it was odd that Swansea fans complained about Grimes being booked for kicking the ball away.

I wish with these new directives they’d tell refs to stop falling for the defender falling over to stop an attack trick. Happened three or four times to us today, Fadz does it too. Fucking hate it.

Poor marking for their goal
Lovely play for ours

You'd think Sakamoto had, the way he gave him hardly anything!

Their number 30 who barged Sakamoto was dirty overall and ref did nothing, he was the one who dragged Kelly down too

Sakamoto got cleaned out with one challenge which was definitely a card he should of given a few more .The shirt pulling and grabbing in the box needs sorted out. When VAR first game in they put a stop to that in all league's but all of a sudden its allowed again. But we had 2 shots on target in a game we controlled which wasn't the ref's fault.

He wasn't really bullied though was he, he got walloped several times and still kept going back for more even though it was clear the ref wasn't giving him anything.

Ref was one of the worst I've seen and that's saying something as loads of the refs at this level are absolutely hopeless.

He put his shoulder right in to his face while looking straight at him. That was a borderline red then drags Kelly down in the box which should be a yellow every day of the week he should have been off yet no cards given at all.

I always start to watch a match and think the refs going to be shit and add or subtract the good and bad things they do and generally make me agree with my first analysis of them with the rare odd few surprising me but generally, and I am not saying its an easy job to suddenly turn into a pompous arrogant fool, some are totally oblivious to what is happening around them which is not helped by the authorities that govern by allowing cheating in every game, start to retrospectively ban the cheating players that dive and issue bans worldwide and then football may get back to being a sport once more and at least make it a little easier for the referees to actually spot a foul and not some cheating c**t getting an unfair advantage for the rest of their cheating team to benefit from.
I still say that to encourage lower league players a way of staying in the game to an extent run refereeing courses and pick referees from them that actually did play professional football then at least they may be able to spot the cheating tactics that are being abused in every match .

Quite poor positioning that and if the league wanted to look I’m not sure a deliberate shoulder to the face isn’t worthy of a red

He takes it well

Swansea player reaction says it all he knew ref couldn’t see.

Other way round definitely yellow if not more

Godden got a retrospective ban for ”simulation” gaining a penalty which he didn’t even appeal for. The Sakamoto incident is basically assault / violent conduct. Both player and referee should face some consequences.

I can't remember if the league are allowed to look retrospectively if a foul is given or if they can't change a yellow to a red.
