Assume we don't like him?? I can never remember the names of them. I just know that 99% of them are dreadful so assume he's not in the 1%?!

According to this (not sure how accurate), he's never reffed us: Stuart Attwell - Record by club

Is he even allowed to if he's from Nuneaton?

Apparently a Luton Town fan as well:

It is openly known who some Premier League referees support, whereas with others it is less clear.

Well he should be grateful we gave Luton the 3 points.

It was Forest who brought the Luton connection to light when their chairman ranted on twitter I think?

Hopefully he's not one of the refs who got bullied at school for being crap at football or if he did that it was by his Leicester supporting classmates and not City.

The assistant VAR for the wolves game is also one of the linesperson/assistants for Saturday. Natalie Aspinall. One of the top drawer female officials along with Sian Massey.

He suffers 'little man' syndrome like Keith Stroud, but hopefully he lets the game flow.

Anyone who's played or coached local football will know that when you're a Coventry team playing away against a Nuneaton team then you will always get a 'Nuneaton ref'.

Does it matter who the ref is? They're all shit anyway. There will be a red card for one player having the audacity to breathe on the pitch, and a quick talking to for another player shanking the opposition with a broken bottle. Just got to hope you're on the right side.

He refereed one of my Sunday games in Nuneaton when he was younger. He booked one of our players (who had just been kicked off the pitch by an opposition player) for coming back on without his permission.

Didn't Lampard have a bad run in with him when managing Everton?

My one and only red card was from Sians now husband Robert Ellis. He blew for a free kick and said that I'd handled outside my area whilst kicking. He said it had happened 4 or 5 times already. So I asked him why wait till the 5th and give a free kick, could he not of given me a warning the first time to watch it? Although I didn't ask quite that politely and I did use the words, sad, pathetic, little and c**t. He's now married sian and taken her surname. Gives you an idea of the amount of spine he has

It was a Sunday league game, the player didn't go off the pitch by choice and he put the card through so he had to pay a fine! It also cost us the fair play trophy!

Don’t think home town/supporter bias is a thing at all. Would suggest all referees go into the game to do their best.
However , capability is the issue- we have seen plenty of times where the ref has made bad decisions and then lost the plot and control of the game.

More so, the ref is on a lose-lose for me on Saturday. Biased towards us and Boro quite rightly question the appointment. Biased towards Boro and we quite rightly question the appointment. He has to get pretty much most things right to get out it without any shite.

The worst thing about PL refs is how they usually rely on VAR so much. There isn't that "safety" net without it.
