He’s a Premier League referee, so hopefully he will be a bit better than the ones we usually get.

We will know if we get a penalty

Or denied one, I predict no appealing for one either for both teams!

I see Kavanagh from. The Villa v Newcastle game has been suspended! What an effing surprise i bet the first game he officiated on his return will be one city's games.

That handball yesterday is bemusing - it wasn’t even close - he was two/three yards inside the box from both sides? It’s like they had a brain melt thinking “oh the kick is from where the player kicked the ball”.

Shearer can moan all he likes about VAR, before VAR the pundits were seeing errors like this and were saying ‘the refs need help’ - this just proves it.

‘the refs need help’ and the Lino was stood right next to the handball inside the box.

Yes too many refs depend on it now as a safety net, rather than thinking I am the ref.

Does suspended just mean no game for a week then back doing the same?

Funnily enough, one of bramalls last coventry games refereed was our 3-0 win away at the riverside last season, including a hayden Hackney red card, could do with a repeat tonight.

I'm pretty sure we had the same thing happen with some other demoted ref as well.

Even though we got a pen, he was still shit.

The sakamoto booking was embarrassing.

Let them get away with a lot while blowing everything for us.

VAR would have given a red for the stamp on Grimes' ankle, missed their player kicking out on the floor.

Finally got a pen at least.

Sorry, I got the referee wrong for tonight. It was actually Hayden Hackney

(Could have been Aidan Morris or Luke Ayling, to be fair)

It probably wasn't an easy game to referee, played at 100% miles and hour with real aggression, but it did feel as if they got away with a lot more than us.

Saka's booking was very poor.

Yeah. No blame on the ref for missing that, but it was sly and cowardly.

I would, and the one on Grimes, which was worse.

They lost their heads pretty early.

I listened to radio tees on the way home after CWR (long trip back and wanted to hear what they said), surprisingly they were pretty fair and their oggy said we were the better team. They had one texter in who agreed the ref was terrible, said even he couldn't understand the Saka booking as it was just odd (though the texter also said it was never a pen).

Really weird ref tonight, constantly poor, yet somehow we finally got a pen and were 3-1 winners.

The Saka yellow was criminal, even the ITV commentators said so. Also I felt the one for Onyeka was very soft, compared to some of the fouls and the dirty tactics they got away with!
