The drop ball being given back to the keeper & the no booking for the foul on Sakamoto are stupid quirks of the laws rather than mistakes by the ref in fairness. The drop ball one is actually being tweaked for next season.

He was still poor though, the failure to award the penalty & the ridiculous lack of stoppage time alone were just incomprehensible tbh.

So a winger can run down the wing, get into the box and lay it out for somebody to run onto. If it hits the ref first then it's instantly given back to the keeper?

In theory, yes. Would likely need horrendous positioning from the ref but that would hardly be a surprise!

“mincing”
“effeminate”

It’s beyond incompetence now.
It’s laughable when people insist that there’s no deliberate cheating from the officials.

Yeah I was starting to think the same. They obviously all look out for each other and if Lampard is calling them shite and a c**t on Saturday then they will all have each others back. Can expect more shite going forward in my opinion.

He was shit, but a lot of this is also shit rules TBH. The drop ball rule these days is a joke.

Fans famously have no feelings about ex players. Can’t wait for Robbie Savage and Craig Bellamy to ref us at the CBS!

The shorter the ref the worse they are, I swear this is true.

When I saw the jumped up little Hobbit warming up I said to my mate "this ref is going to be shite, the short ones always are".

I think I remember us having him before, I seem to recall a red having a real hard on for having thrown ins being taken from the right spot but generally being shit at actual refereeing.

Also, making Rudoni take the corner from the other side, what's that all about. Didn't the ball go over the bar?

And how was there only 4 minutes injury time in the 1st half....Torp was on the floor way longer than that.

The rules have become so unwieldy and complex, it's no wonder they struggle sometimes.

Some of the more baffling outcomes are from correct application of a poor rule. Offside in particular.

For me, it was that the ball wasn’t hammered at him. It seemed there was loads of time to get out of the way, but he didn’t. Might be being cynical, but he really wound me up.

When did Robbie Savage play for us?!

I have smoothed everything over for Monday.

This is the ref for the game, so I sent him a lovely letter saying I will clean out his gutters for him and rearrange his missus' herb garden.

Left a lovely bottle of Lambrini on his doorstep too.

We will be fine.

Watched it back this morning. Exactly 5 minutes from the time Torp was tackled until Sheaf came on the pitch.

I can't remember that clearly but I swear we were in possession on the edge of Pompey's box. A backwards pass hits the ref and possession changes??

Seems he got that one right, though.

It was a clearance from a cross of ours that was dropping to Kitching on the edge of the area, and the ref got in the way. Technically, under that its right, but show's it as a shit rule (as well as shit positioning by the ref)

When the winner went in i was shocked the fucker wasnt as devastated as the pompy players/fans.

The bit at 89 mins when he insisted on calling kitching over and wasted the last 30 secs of normal time just to talk to him. Fucking clown.

Cu*t tried his best to give them a point.

Their number 18, 3 fouls in the first half, anyone could have received a card from another ref, Murphy kicks the ball away half way down the pitch when Torp is fouled, Bramall 18 doesn't even get booked until the 92 minute what a joke

I also think FL was close to a 2nd red in succession, he was giving the 4th official pelters, and the ref kept staring at him
