He did
He was captain so it’s likely the ref knew their names and used them

He shouted ‘Matty’ to Grimes and also when Rudoni had the issue with the keeper he said ‘Rudi’.
Also the 4th official when we were doing the subs was shouting “haji”.
Don’t know if he’d reffed them before but I thought that was better than usual.

For reference, Busby reffed us at home to Blackburn, and West Brom and Sheff We’d away.
Andy Madley not done any of ours yet.

Different 22 each week plus subs? As a teacher I went full years without learning everyone’s name in a class I taught weekly!

It’s basic behaviour management TBF. I wonder if the FA recruits disaffected teachers

Why is it a player get a booking (seen it in a game over the weekend) for obstructing his opponent when he clearly just stands still and dosen't move out of his way when on the attack.Yet a player deliberatly obstructing a player going for a header(shielding his colleague heading it) gets away scot free?
While on, cannot see the rule about the keeper releaseing the ball next season lasting long it will probably go the way of the 6 second one.

Interesting point on the 6 second rule…. The law says can’t hold ball in hand for longer than 6 seconds before releasing it….. I’ve seen that interpreted somewhere that if the keeper bounces the ball it resets the timer, although if he’s seen to be clearly time wasting then he should be penalised.

Has to be in control and able to play it too which incentivises lying on the ground for no reason.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a free kick given. Yellow cards for time wasting but never a free kick.

It doesn't reset the 6 seconds or a keeper could bounce it every 6 seconds for the whole game.
If a keeper releases the ball from his hands he's not allowed to touch it again with his hands. This includes bouncing the ball. Never ever seen that blown for.
