Just seen the match highlights...

What on earth was Reda doing for that stupid tackle in the first half (think it was on Marshall). It was an absurd challenge and I don't know how or why it wasn't given but looked a certain penalty to me.

He is prone to these ridiculous and reckless moments of magic that have cost us already this season and should have done again on Saturday.

he needs to calm down!!

Included in Football League "Team of the Week"!

"Defender: Reda Johnson (Coventry City)

A fifth goal of the season for Johnson sent Coventry on their way to a 2-0 victory away to Port Vale on Saturday, and that saw them jump above the Valiants in the league standings. It was the Sky Blues' second win in three matches, and their third clean sheet in a row, and manager Steven Pressley has called for them to kick on from positive results.

It was bananas, that challenge. But I think I can throw some light onto why you can't understand why a penalty wasn't given. Although he missed the ball by a mile, he also missed the man by a similar distance.

He is better as a LB than a CB as shown at Sheff Wed. He plays with his heart on his sleeve but is a bit of a loose cannon. Needs to use his brain a bit more and work on his positional play...potentially a very decent player at this level.

Offers us more up front than he does in defence IMO. Bit too clumsy too much of the time and often makes atleast one cock up per game. Whether it be a poor challenge, or a bad pass.

When Webster makes mistakes he gets slated, when Reda makes a mistake he gets his name sang.

When he's on his game though, I think he's immense. Dominates the opposition strikers, his style of defending often wins us the ball when he has no right to but then if he gets it wrong he will leave us exposed. When he's off his game he does look like an accident waiting to happen, the 3 at the back suited him earlier in the season as he could go about his defending without worrying about leaving us short in the central defense.

Record with Johnson
P 15
W 6
D 5
L 4

One of them was the Scunthorpe match where he was stupidly sent off and two of them losses were in cup competitions so his league 1 record is

(Not including Scunthorpe defeat or Leyton Orient where he went off after a minute)
P 11
W 6
D 4
L 1

Considering we've been pretty awful this season, that's a pretty good record for an individual. Can any of our other players boast such a good record? Obviously it isn't just down to him but in my mind there is no doubt we are better with him in the team.

Webster is more reliable and less likely to do something crazy but he's just a steady below average to average defender in this league and a 5/6 out of 10 every week.

Isn't far off, but in all seriousness, Reda does seem to be an influential player for us, let hope he doesn't get injured again.

True, just shows how subjective looking at individual players win record is.
