I don’t know if a so called recruitment team exists or not. I’ll stick up for Mark Robins at the moment, new players, getting them to settle and gel into a team can take time BUT if I thought there was a recruitment team or for that matter an individual other than the manager signing players I’d be the first calling for Robins out. No one other than the first team manager should have the say in who we sign. I’m admittedly old school but could you honestly imagine dear old Brian Clough or Bobby Robson, Shankly, Busby, Revie or our own JH I could go on and on allowing that shows massive managerial weakness in my opinion.
You have to remember that a few of these players may have been 2nd,3rd or 4th choice due to targets going elsewhere. We are low in the food chain. Do think players attitude/background should be checked. I heard our captain was asked about should we sign player x. He said no (due to off pitch stuff). Then player x was duly signed!
