Sometimes a mutual friend needs to introduce girl and Bert, and once they've done so they find they have lots in common after all.

Maybe after the blind date, Fisher and Lucas might be ripping each others' clothes off and forming a life partnership.

Just the thought of that makes me feel sick.

And how can you say about not having our club and stadium united when you know it won't be owned by our club? We need this explained more.

The only construction that makes sense will be to have the stadium in a prop-co under SBS&L.
Having ACL owned by an outside arm of sisu will be like the current setup, and I can't see how the revenues from ACL could be counted towards the FFP formula.

Astute said:
What I would be the happiest with would be if SISU and CCC came to an agreement that the arena was always tied to our club, and if there were ever bad debts to cover like admin or even liquidation the arena would be converted back to CCC but would belong to CCFC otherwise.

That is probably easy as CCC will still own the freehold, so the lease could probably in some way be tied to the golden share.

We really should push for it.

Sisu say no, ACL say yes - confirms what we know, Sisu are scum.

Sisu say no, ACL say no - both as bad as each other, idiots.

Sisu say yes, ACL say no - hmm.

Sisu say yes, ACL say yes - bingo. Things could possibly move on.

Indeed, what's to lose?

Or we can let them keep fighting a PR war full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

So what sort of deal are you talking about? Purchasing ACL? Valueless? Joy wants much more anyway. Or are you saying the arena might be valueless whatever?

I don't know, thats why I think it needs a proper valuation.

I think we can solve this thread by saying, let's wait until the JR has flew by, by that time more facts are in the open for all parties and fair negotiations can take place, while establishing a realistic value for purchase.

I would just say that if CCC value the 50% at £0 why don't the Club just purchase the Councils share if they know it's not worth anything??

I agree nothing will happen until after the JR.

If the CCC share is worth nothing, why would Sisu want it?

Don't we need to know what is being valued before it is?

Let's see, shall we?

Potential deals could indeed include the club buying ACL. They could also include a long term rental deal, or some other deal. All 'sides' claim to want a deal for the benefit of the football club, so let's see who's afraid of putting that statement to the test.

Words are empty, action less so.

I don't think that statement is entirely true. Sisu's only apparent concern is their investors--it certainly isn't CCFC or the supporters.

The golden share has nothing to do with where a club plays. It just gives a club a right to play in the FL.

Not wishing to put words in his mouth, but I assume he's using shorthand to make sure that conditions are put in place that if ownership of the league place is transferred to somebody else, then 'ownership' of the ground (in whatever form) must go with it. i.e. a separate property company goes with the sale of the club, rather than it staying in the hands of the previous owners even as the club is shifted on.

In other words, so we don't end up with the situation Portsmouth had when financial troubles hit, and the chairman made sure the ground was his even as the club fell from under him.

Oh come on, it can't be too hard to put a clause on the lease of the Ricoh saying it will be void if transferred to a company or consortium not holding the golden share. So the owner of ACL, holder of the long lease at the Ricoh, will always be the owner of the football club. If they try to sell one - they must sell both or the lease is cancelled.

How could a mediator force either Sisu to buy or the council to sell?

Someone could negotiate a deal, but unless sisu are serious about buying for a fair price, and the council and higgs selling, then it would be pointless.

It would probably work fine right up until the point that sisu have to show proof of funds, at which point sisu will be trying to purchase the ricoh like they're buying a Nike tracksuit out of a littlewoods catalogue.

Sisu's pie in the sky Conference league standard new stadium is reputedly going to cost circa £30 to £40m. On that basis the Ricoh is worth
at least £80m.

And we all know how much SISU like using litigation. Higgs thought they had a watertight case.

And what would the FL do about the golden share? They have already shown themselves to be toothless. They have already bent the rules in favour of SISU.

Where has that come from??

The Ricoh may be worth £80M in your eyes, however CCFC could access all the revenues for much less then that, something that would intrigue me more.

No one particularly gives two hoots about a new Stadium, not even Sisu..

Surely him being a cock would be a fine reason to neutralise him in a negotiating process, by putting in place somebody who wouldn't bother with the rhetoric, but rather what was on the table?

Thing is, it wasn't the club/SISU who refused to discuss mediation or a three year run-off clause in a rental deal when this all blew up. What's done is done, however, and we are where we are and all that jizz.

We're also not going to get anywhere by raking up the past. That includes SISU raking up the great ills done to them - the only way we move forward is if we ask the question 'how can this be resolved?'

What I want to know is what reasons exist that make the current situation better than attempting resolution?

In theory it's a nice idea. Problem is you're back to what if what is suggested (rental deal/unencumbered freehold) isn't acceptable to one side.

I fear the reason no amicable result has been found is because there isn't one.

What we as fans consider reasonable isn't the same as what's best for the city or what's best for Joys investors.

But some kind of arbitrator/peacekeeper would be good. I'm surprised Tony Blair hasn't offered his services. Should be good practice for the Middle East.
