Not bad that. Remind me, Martin was on loan with us season before last, yeah? I can't remember what he was like?

Some decent players in that list. You have thought that we may be able to attract one or two of those (it also demonstrates what a precarious profession it can be - they not all going to be millyunaires)

That's actually a pretty decent 11! I'd certainly have any of the three CB's in our team, which is an area we definitely need to improve in.

As for upfront, could Lita do a job alongside Wilson? Think he'd probably be too similar, always wanting to play off someone rather than be the one to lay someone off. Don't know much about Stock.

Wade Elliott would also add something to our midfield

"Wade Elliott would also add something to our midfield"

Wade Elliott - decent player, St Ledger used to get quite a few goals too. Hoskins will be on too much £££

Sorry SW88 - ballsed up the quote bit

I believe Akinfenwa would be good with Wilson.

I would take Bailey good midfielder and much better than Thomas, Daniels, Barton or Prutton.

Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd add the CET article about available strikers here. Apart from Hoskins and his wages, I think the other 4 will be realistic targets. And I'd like us to be in for Westcarr, who's just ended a decent season with Walsall goal scoring wise:

I thought it carried over with limits on though. Like promotion in 5 years or whatever. Besides £50m/7 = £7m/year loss which is roughly what Sisu have posted.

Like I said, they've all been shit financially for what we got out. No one is covered in glory here.

OT: Bailey is a good shout, we need at least two strikers after what happened this season. I'd take Aaron Martin back and a couple of wingers.

Nah he's a bit crap imo

14 goals in 43 games in a good Walsall team where he is the main goal scorer.

I'd take both Bailey and Martin back tomorrow, both would be in our first 11

I think Westcarr is past his best now. Remember him at Kettering Town many moons ago

So Westwood's been released by Sunderland. Personally, I'd take him back in a heartbeat although he's probably out of our price range now.

Westwood probably not going to come back to the city, thinking about it why on earth would he want to? But Leon Cort is the man for city, released by Charlton and he would walk into our starting 11. Robert Koren released by Hull. Those three players and we have a strong side capable of promotion

Blimey, Leon Cort?! Ex Wimbledon and Newcastle? I honestly haven't heard about him in years! He must be mid-thirties by now?

EDIT: just looked it up. I was thinking of his brother!

Just looking at his record - he's played just 66 league games over the last 4 seasons, and only 4 league appearance last season according to wiki. And turns 35 in September.

Mind you, the last striker we got off Charlton didn't do bad for us. But he was younger!

Goalkeeper Adam Legzdins and midfielder James Bailey are to leave Derby when their contracts expire this summer. Both players have not been offered new deals by the Sky Bet Championship play-off finalists.
