Really, really hope he's involved in this Wasps thing. It's just what the whole thing needs, is a new twist with a comedy angle - it'd be a bit like chantibng for the David Van Day version of Bucks Fizz.

In fact let's not stop at Ranson, let's get a dream team back, we can have McGinnity and Robinson too. They could do a little show. McGinnity on drums, Robinson on bass guitar, Ranson could be the singer/guitarist.

Ranson does Leonard Nimoy!

Then you turn round and all their eyes have sunken away, they're prowling Cannock Chase striking fear into the hearts of strangers and asking to come inside.

Can you tell what it is yet? It's a fucking farce, that's what:facepalm:

This a competition on which evil Vincent Price impersonator comes next?

Ray ranson actually identified some talent and I would welcome his return - just not if it's at the expense of CCFC.

True. I believe it was him who seeked out Dann and Fox. At least he understands football more than the current lot. He made a big mistake in lack of due diligence with SISU but I doubt he would have ever moved the club to Northampton.

That was Dowie.

He did actually get us the next England left back in Chris Hussey however.

Lack of due diligence is a slightly odd claim given his career has seen him involved in hedge funds that have lent money to clubs at an extortionate rate and, at the time he was at CCFC, his loan was the only one that wasn't interest free...

In fact lack of due diligence is a bullshit excuse full-stop. The onlyt reason SISU are here at all is due to Ranson!

The fact that some are still lauding Ranson says it all. Have you learnt nothing?

He hired crap managers and wasted what money sisu were prepared to invest in the squad.

The only reason sisu are here is because of Ranson.

Why is Fisher attacked for saying we are debt free, but Ranson is still seen in a positive light despite saying the same thing numerous times.

It astounds me that *anybody* who has been involved at board level with the club over the past 15-odd years would *ever* be welcomed back.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions and all, but to a man they've *all* seen at the very least a fatal lack of judgement in associating themselves with some of the most inept regimes ever seen at football clubs the world over!

So what possible reason would anybody want *any* of them back?!? They've failed, to a man (and woman) in their duty of care to the club.

Fresh start, fresh people, without the stench of disaster following them please.

Simon Gilbert reported that Ranson had identified Dann and Fox. Dowie however was in charge. For that he can be lauded. I take your point on the other part though, I probably don't understand his involvement with SISU very well as I didn't focus much on the off the field events at that time.

You believe wrong. He did say chris Hussey and Richard wood were better than both though. He also sold Adebola when he and Misfud were working well and sneered at his lack of goals. He then signed Freddie Eastwood.

I certainly wouldn't laud Ranson or welcome him with open arms but if our choice is being homeless with SISU or as a part of a group owning us, Wasps and the Ricoh I know which one I would choose. if for no other reason than it making us a more attractive prospect for a more preferable owner down the line.

You never know with signings do you. People have a habit of working things so they support their arguement. Those that like SP will credit him with the good signings and Waggott gets the blame for the useless ones, those who don't like SP will tell you the opposite.

You can't prove he did or didn't. I don't walk around with Ranson and I doubt you do either so we can't say whether he did or not, I can only go off what I read and make my own judgement.

ISTR both Ranson & Dowie claimed it was their idea.

I shall just say that one of the main reasons Dowie was turfed out of (was it?) Charlton was poor recruitment (I think his brother did the scouting).
