Eccles played well in midfield. He is not a rwb

Mcfadz a beast

Wilson 8

Not too many saves to make but good distribution and timing. They hit the post late on but he even seemed to have that covered. Maybe.

Rose 7

Didn’t do too much wrong.

Fadz 8

Some grandstand defending there. Marshalled well and a clean sheet.

Panzo 7

Showed some skill but also a bit of naive play.

Dabo 5

Lucky to stay on the pitch. Some poor play. Not been the same since long injury last season.

Bidwell 6

Alright, some wayward balls but overall ok.

Eccles 7

Much better in the centre. Not as comfortable RWB. Lively.

Sheaf 6

Some great play but then seemed to play the wrong ball in the final third. Silly yellow to get banned marks him down.

Allen 5

Busy but not cutting or string enough to control the mid.

Godden 5

Doesn’t suit this system. Don’t know why.

Gyok 8

He won the penalty that won the match through a moment of skill strength and determination. Gets an 8. Some greedy greedy play stops him getting a 9. Maybe he has no faith in those around him? Maybe be he’s trying to showcase his talents for a move. Anyway. Top player.

Subs

Hamer 6.

Missed him.

Waghorn 7

He didn’t miss. Must have been a lot of pressure on him.

Palmer 6

Just ok. Looked a pen to me. Heavy touches sometimes.

Tavares n/a

Not a great game. Centre backs and Sheaf good, Gyokeres had an off day

Brilliant 3 points. Did we even have a shot on target (pen aside)?

Wilson 7 - Distribution is horredous but another absolute solid game.

Dabo 6 - type of game he struggles in.

Rose 8

Fadz 9 - One of the greatest bargains we've had. Unbelievable performance at his age.

Panzo 8

Bidwell 6 - Not at his best. Similar to Dabo. Struggled after the booking.

Sheaf 7 - Also struggled after the booking. Looked like he was treading on eggshells. Still solid.

Allen 7 - Solid but still feel like he holds us back.

Eccles 7 in Midfield 3 in defence. It was horrible watching him at RB.

Godden 4 - What's the point?

Gyok 6 - Hard to play in his style when the ref penalises him for every 50/50.

Subs
Wag 7 - Great pen and once again offered more than Godden.
Hamer 7
Palmer 8 - Love the lad. Those tackles are beautiful.

Tav N/A.

Ref 0 - The game was so poor because of his officiating. Tackle on Dabo was a disgrace. He gave whatever the Sheffield United players and staff complained about. The branding on yellow cards for anyone who made a foul after the Dabo tackle killed the standard of the game. He nearly failed to give the pen. Gave Sheffield United every 50/50.

Absolute steal of a result, Sheffield Utd no chance of keeping pace at the top if they couldn't beat us tonight. They will be lucky to finish top 12.

Could see it absolute killed the referee to give that penalty but he knew he couldn't deny us two stonewallers in the second bald.

Sheffield Utd man childs couldn't control there emotions outside the stadium.

Happy for Waghorn, amazing penalty from him.

I’m a big fan of Sheaf but I thought he was a bit off today. Lots of wayward passing in the first half.

Wilson - 6/7 7 for his keeping but a 6 for his horrific distribution
Dabo - 5 just looks so far off the pace , is he carrying another injury?
Bidwell - 7 just so solid , our left hand side hasn’t looked so secure in seasons
Panzo - 6 young and raw but is wholehearted
McFadz - 9 how will we replace him , won every aerial duel , lead the defence and his distribution was effective
Rose - 7 a solid performance , hopefully he will cement his place in the side
Sheaf - 6 an odd performance , covered well and linked up with Eccles but seemed to forget we were playing in sky blue when passing forward
Eccles - 7 so composed on the ball , covers well and looks a real player
Allen - 6 busy performance but doesn’t link up play or use the ball well enough to play in that position
Godden - 4 anonymous tonight
Gyokeres 7/8 gets the 8 for his driving run to win the penalty but a 7 for his lack of awareness at times

Subs
Palmer - 7 did really well when he came on , used the ball well and carried it when needed
Hamer - 6 tidy in possession
Waghorn - 8 just for the goal
Tavares - not on lone enough to warrant a score

And I’m not one for knocking referees but he was abysmal tonight . Missed/ Bottled the straight red and then spent the next 15 minutes booking anyone who made a foul . Then spent the second half giving Sheff Utd anything they appealed for
Nearly didn’t give the penalty

About right. Panzo and Dabo gave the ball away a lot. Mcfazdean and Rose did well and resisted pressure

Godden is a passenger and as the seasons games get more intense we need 11 players

Hamer was underwhelming

We are playing an uglier style but it’s going to be the best way for us I think

Wilson 6 Distribution awful, handling good

Rose 6
McFadzean 7 MOTM
Panzo 6 Clearly talented and athletic but he clearly has a mistake in him every week

Dabo 5 Off the pace again today
Sheaf 6 Uncharacteristically untidy at times
Eccles 7 Excellent in CM, his quality is obvious
Allen 6
Bidwell 6

Godden 6
Gyokeres 7 Quiet by his standards but one moment of quality enough to win the game

Palmer 6 Again, entertaining aggression but little more
Hamer 6
Waghorn 6 Great pen
Tavares NA

If he's that poor every match and we keep a clean sheet I'd be more than happy.

Compered to Allen and sheaf the distribution from the back 3 is of a better standard than some of the midfield.

Fadz 10, Rose 9 lots of 6s and 7s for rest. Palmer was outstanding sub too. Ref s bellend. Shit game, used the ball poorly but needed warriors and we had them. Wilson charmed life in nets but take lucky over good every day of the week.

Had nothing to aim at whatsoever. Gyokeres was marked out the game and Allen and Godden were in L1 mode.

I thought Panzo's passing was very poor tonight, aimless punts down the line or short passing behind his man almost every time. His defensive heading was weak or he let the ball drop over him and several times Fadz had to come over and clean up the 2nd ball or cover him. Yes it was a clean sheet, yes it was against a top team and yes it was a brilliant result, but overall it was not a quality performance which reflected in my ratings.

Just because we kept a clean sheet doesn’t mean they had good games. Panzo tonight was a shadow of the player he was in Cardiff. Dabo was lucky to still be on the field 10 minutes very not the 2nd half.
