Doyle motm

Robins cost the game with his changes and waiting way too long for tavares. What did he expect?

Bring kane back asap.

Doyle only one who deserves to retain his spot, the rest were dog shit over the 90, especially allen.

MR loves godden and Allen. I know godden scores goals but at this level, if he doesn't do that he doesn't do much else

Wilson 7

He’s a bit maverick for my liking. Great saves but does he inspire confidence throughout the team? Could easily have got a red

Eccles 5

Others will have their opinion - looked a bit out of his depth. Out of position a few times. Inexperience showed.

Doyle 7

Did well. Others had said the same as I would.

Fadz 6

Could have been 7. Did ok but we conceded and he’s the organising defender

Rose 6

Did his job ok.

Bidwell 8

Best game I’ve seen him in. Looked up for it and got up and down the line well.

Sheaf 6

Typical Sheaf game. Some great stuff, some frustrating silly mistakes

Allen 6

Just meh.

Godden 5

Invisible

Waghorn 7

Looked up for it

Gyok 6

Glad he had a bad game. If he’d scored a hat trick then he’d be sold tomorrow.

Wilson 5 lucky to not get a red, Moore has had his punishment
Eccles 5 too slow of thought
Rose 6
McFadz 6
Doyle 7 great passing on exciting driving forward
Bidwell 7 got forward well and stretched the game out
Sheaf 6 some good, some not so good though we were more exposed in midfield after he went off
Allen 5 works hard but the quality and decision making is just not good enough
Godden 5 barely involved
Gyokeres 5 bit predictable and the positions he takes up when Godden is playing often means he's running away from goal
Waghorn 7 thought he did well and at least tried to offer what O'Hare brings, dropping off into space and giving an outlet

Subs
Dabo 4 just out of sorts at the minute
Hamer 6 some nice stuff but some rash decision making
Palmer 5 off the pace and too often beaten to the ball, when he did get a chance to play in either Godden or Gyok he timed and executed it badly
Tavares n/a too late really by the time he came on

Robins 5 we're predictable and i feel like we need a change of something, it's not just a bad start to this season it's a long run going back 10 months.

Bidwell very good.

Impressed by Doyle.

A midfield comprising Hamer and Palmer will be very dynamic in the season ahead.

Add in O'Hare and a reversion to 3-5-1-1 with Vik leading the line and there's plenty to look forward too.

Formation wasn't quite right for us today, 3 upfront but unlucky not to take anything away from the game.

Wilson - 6 - should have been sent off but made some good saves
Eccles - 4 - don’t know what’s happened to him
Rose - 5 - meh
McFadzean - 6 - okay, great defending for their late chance
Doyle - 7 - impressed with him, had a solid game
Bidwell - 7 - was decent, looks one of our better players at the moment
Allen - 3 - did he even play?
Sheaf - 5 - had to do a lot to cover for the invisible Allen, but made a lot of mistakes
Waghorn - 6 - at least he was trying stuff but his legs looks 10 seconds behind his feet
Gyokeres - 4 - one of his worst games for us
Godden - 5 - not as bad as Gyokeres, but barely did anything

Dabo - 2 - awful
Hamer - 6 - again at least he tried to get us forward, good corners
Palmer - 5 - meh
Tavares - N/A

Ok fair enough. I just don't think the 3 (Vik, God, Wag) work well together at all.

Can't fault the effort. Much better second half but the main culprits were the forwards. Their touch was awful, as was their awareness of each other's runs/positioning.

It was like going back 3 years with Fadz tonight. Some good defending but my word his passing, hoofing and heading was a tough watch.

Zero coincidence we concede as soon as Sheaf goes off. We completely lost our shape in midfield and panic set in. Baffling decision yet again by Robins when Allen was on the pitch.

Thought Waghorn was the only one who came out with credit.

Even Doyle, his good bits were him making up for his own mistakes.

Wasn't his best game. Pass completion was poor and hardly won a tackle. Agreed taking him off instead of Allen was baffling.

This really was a draining performance to watch and it’s against a bang average side, never mind the actually decent teams in the division. Very hard to feel positive about this whole situation

Wilson 5. Think he comes from the same signing school as DaCoata, Kazteneer etc as he seems to have the attributes, but then he manages crazy brain fade that undoes the previous hard work. New keeper is a higher priority than central defender in my view.

Eccles 6.5. I actually thought he did alright. Showed willing, good cross. Has to think through the game at RWB and that sometimes means he's behind the play, but that can come.

Doyle 8. Confident and assured, brought the ball out well, positioning not quite there. Looked good though!

McFadzean and Rose both 6. Basically ok but not great passing and caught on the hop a couple of times.

Bidwell 8. Don't see what people are missing. Was an outlet countless times and so close to a goal.

Sheaf 5. Not one of his better games, but no movement up front makes it hard

Allen 6. Similar to Sheaf, but a couple of excellent passes to break the line, and more energy than Sheaf

Waghorn 7. Mainly for the 20 minutes after half time where I assume he was told to exhaust himself. First time I've seen him really carry the ball, and looked dangerous. Movement poor first half. If not fitness, the wrong person came off. And on that note...

Godden 4. Poor movement, terrible touch, no threat.

Gyokeres 5. Bit better on movement than the other two but still poor. How can the midfield pass to you if you don't make space? But, drove at the defence, just picked the wrong option more often than not.

Palmer 6. He has class. If he can get fit(!) there's a player in there.

Hamer 7. Carried the ball which the other midfielders hadn't done, which narrowed the gaps between midfield and attack.

Dabo 5. Not as bad as since have said, but needs to get up to speed.

Tavares N/A

Doyle and Bidwell played well.
Thought Waghorn was our best attacking threat but can see why he was taken off, looked battered.

First time I've seen Palmer play and thought he looked promising.

Set pieces were shocking tonight

Agree with pretty much everything said so far. A few things I would add though:

- Palmer clearly has loads of ability. Hope he stays fit, him and O'Hare could be a menace in the box
- Gyokeres and Godden doesn't seem to be working at the moment. Maybe Waghorn deserves a go alongside Vik.
- Fadz is beginning to show his age at times now. He's so bloody slow. If Doyle continues that form I wouldn't be averse to Panzo getting a game in the middle to give Fadz a rest now and then.

I'd be looking more at playing Waghorn alongside Godden.

Gyökeres has had a poor start to the season. Defenders have been on him and he's not had a sniff beside the goal at Sunderland.
