All dire.

Starting lineup, why was Shipley in and JCS dropped?

Baffling 3rd sub rather than going for it to swap the full back.

We were too happy to settle for a draw.

All below par. Thought O’Hare and Sheaf were out better players.

Absolutely wank

Sheaf only one with any credit tonight.

Waghorn can just fuck off.

I’m trying to give Bidwell time but the more I see him the more I’m beginning to think he’s stealing a living playing at this level.

Defence all over the shop. Big Vik and ohare looks about spent. Glad we bought in a few players during the window to help the squad with such a busy February. Fucking useless

Played play first half. But same old shit. Pass pass pass, gets to midfield and blind panic, lose it. Back to keeper. Start again and repeat.

Sheaf Ok. O’Hare lively but spent, same as Gyok.

Bidwell is not an attacking threat and is too slow tracking back. That’ll be problematic when other teams fully realise. Leave him out and play Maatsen or even Shipley in his place:

Why Shipley? He can ping a ball from the left centre mid and doesn’t need to hit the byline. Playing Shipley so high isn’t working.

LWB: Maatsen
Bench as cover: Shipley
Leave back in Wales: Bidwell.

22 year olds from L1 or Scotland need time to settle.

29 year olds with 100’s of Champ games? No

He’s a LB not a LWB hence he can’t link forward and can’t get back quick enough.

And he looks like he’s been drinking butter.

By this logic we should’ve gone for Roberto Carlos on that eBay competition.

Couldn’t care less what he’s done, we’re paying him for what he’s doing now. I thought he was slightly better tonight but he’s starting from a very low baseline. Him and Waghorn both big chunks of the budget and neither add much if anything to the team.

Everyone else 5

Im so grateful to Shipley for his service to the club, but it’s time to move on. He’s so far off the pace required it’s frightening.

Shame we couldn’t win, but it is what it is. Worried for the rest of the season if we keep this level of performance. Just don’t want to see us slide right down and finish 16th again.

Minus points for Bidwell & Waghorn. Both colossal wastes of money.

If we don’t beat Barnsley I’m done with us this year. Season ticket is going in the bin. I can’t sit and watch us piss a genuine chance of play-offs up the wall in this dogshit league.

Moore 6 (poor distribution but not much he could have done with the goals)
Kane 6 (no real threat going forward)
Bidwell 6 (same as Kane)
Hyam 8 (solid. Intercepted well high up the pitch which created attacking chances)
McFadzean 5 (looked laboured in and out of possession. Could have done better for second goal)
Rose 5 (poor use of the ball. Struggled on the left side)
Sheaf 7 (pretty much controlled the midfield first hour. Beaten too easily for first goal and then although fouled leading up to the second, reacted slowly and just looked to ref)
Allen 6 (steady enough. Kept possession well but not much variation)
Shipley 4 (looked knackered after 15 minutes. Not sure what he contributed apart from an audacious air shot)
O'Hare 8 motm (only player who played with intensity. Delightful early cross for Gyokeres chance. Robbed of a pen)
Gyokeres 6 (looked leggy. Had some moments where he turned well and caused problems but should have scored the header)

Clarke-Salter 7 (couple of crucial challenges and restored some balance - until Maatsen's introduction at RWB)
Waghorn 5 (step up from Shipley but surely Jones would have been better option?)
Maatsen 4 (just seemed to pass it to Cardiff players)

I imagine football manager would have them scored like this:

Moore 6.6
Kane 6.5
Hyam 6.6
McFadz 6.6
Rose 6.5
Bidwell 6.6
Allen 6.4
Shipley 6.3
Sheaf 6.8
O'Hare 6.7
Gyok 6.6

Just got home. Grim. Sheaf only player worth giving any credit too really, didn’t deserve to be on the losing side. A lot of higher ratings for O’Hare than I expected. Maybe from where we were sat it was harder to see his good work.

I thought Bidwell was slightly better tonight without pulling up trees.

Most baffling thing was the subs. Robins got tonight completely wrong. He used his first two subs correcting what should have been his starting 11 and then the third one, I have no idea. Chasing a game and brings on a left back at right back, for a player who can create a chance with one great ball.

When chasing a game why do we still need three centre backs on the pitch when we’re still gonna defend like we did for the second goal. It felt like it didn’t matter how the game went tonight, it would have always have been those three subs. Frustrating.

frustrating to watch, much the better side but toothless really

ridiculous overreaction on this thread we are a decent side just lack a bit of quality in final third at times

yes poor subs and yes wrong team selection

they scored a good and after vic missed chance that was that one of those games

ohare has to get some goals and work on his first touch he faded tonight

We were 100% the better side in every department and our press first half was very good. We’re just toothless in the box.

Thought Bidwell was poor and half a second too slow on the ball. We tires second half. Needs freshening up.

Gyko has to score that header.
