I agree with you SSB. It's just that I can't recall a City player picking up the ball on half way and running past 6 players before burying it in the corner - as someone said earlier that was similar to the Maradona 86 goal. Also had elements of Owen, France 98 and even Ricky Villa, FA Cup. It was a sensational goal to win the match and for that alone I give Walsh a 10.

I really like Dabo after a shaky start to the season he has nailed the right back spot, great aggression and that run today before he was cynically stopped, every time he came forward they were backing off him, Marosi done well except for one dodgy kick to put us back under pressure. As everyone has said Drysdale started poorly but grew into the game, defence in general were being caught with quick breaks but got more of a grip 2nd half, midfield in the first half were being overrun but again got a grip 2nd half and that goal from Walsh WOW! Shipley frustrates the hell out of me at times with his lack of concentration by giving the ball away with dreadful passes but you cannot question his passion playing for us and it means a lot to him you can see that and his desire to make sure the ball went into the net. Baka, well I could really really rip him apart but apart from one of the misses of the decade his lack of desire to win the ball his lack of movement he had a great game!!!
Team dug in and got us another 3 points

Honestly how many of these posters ACTUALLY went to the match?

Drysdale played really well on his debut.

In the first half he cleared two threats because OF his positional awareness! He covered for the ineptitude of Hyam.

You can’t see properly from TV highlights what actually occurred for their goal.

Drysdale was in the correct position (albeit a little too high up the pitch) Hyam went too close to their attacker and wandered too far to the right, who then cleverly flicked it on. It was their right back who went through and Mason should have tracked back with him. When the cross is sent through their are two Rochdale players with only Rose to help and Dabo-who again didn’t follow his man-left trailing miles behind.

Most of that is not Drysdales fault. Hyam should have passed the player on (and in fact he was marked by Drysdale for the majority of the match) Mason and Dabo should have tracked back.

Drysdale surely is allowed one mistake (the pass back) Hyam and Rose made plenty but you don’t see them on the highlights.

Robins praised Drysdale debut post match and I can definitely see why. Composed, passed well, positional sense good and for a debut we have another brilliant young centre back that will make us money in the future.

7 or 8 for me

Westbrooke and Walsh miles ahead of the others yesterday, could be lucky to keep Westbrooke in January if he keeps playing like this

He did ok. 7 or 8 means you did really well to me. Dabo or Westerbrooke could be in those kind of ratings. I like how you say he was in the right position albeit in the wrong part of the pitch. Absolute belter that one.

Drysdale was shaky. At failt for the goal mins after a truly terrible bsckpass. Had that been mcfadz u would not be sticking up gor him

He recovered with a great tsvkle in box then grew into game
But even thrn a straight forward clearence in 2nd half he shanked back ibto danger zone and near end a simple cross block he put out for corner because caught it wrong when sgould have been out for a throw

But it was his debut so alot od this to be expected. Got a 5 from me . A 6 max. No chsnce 7 or 8 sinply because hes a new young kid

It was nothing like Maradona in 86, he took it round the keeper too.

It was a lovely goal though

Bursting forward at pace from the half way line and beating 5-6 men was certainly reminiscent of the Maradona classic. The finish was even more spectacular.

Maradonna was against established international players at the top of their game. Walsh was against 3rd division players-no comparison.
Still a decent goal though.

The pitch was in the wrong position. Like Baka's miss, it's not that it was a shit effort, it's just the goals were in the wrong place.

Marosi 7. Decent. Punched a few he could have caught.

Dabo 7. Decent, calm under pressure
Rose 7. OK
Hyam 7. OK
Drysdale 4. Awful, slow at fault for their goal, straight after he nearly gave them a good chance on goal
Mason 8. Bombed up and down all day
Eccles 7. Great potential
Westbrooke 7.5 Growing into each game.
Walsh 9.5. Just for the goal, nearly as good as Huckerby's
Shipley 7. Shudda scored 2
Bakayoko 6.5. Missed a sitter, but up front alone is not the best way to play him

O'Hare 7, I'm a fan
