Burge 4, I'm sorry but if a cross is in your 6yard box you have to deal with it, if he comes he fucks it if he stays we are in trouble, im sorry this isn't good enough, oggy sort it out

Sterling 6, ok but capable of so much better, was cruising through game

Mason 5, bang average nothing impresses

Davies 6, fair display, too casual on ball

Hyam 6, a good pro now, distribution could be better

Shipley 6, filling in and is not a centre mid too lightweight, that said shows promis on the ball needs to find a position

Kelly 8, excellent performance deserved more, ran the game

Bright 8, this boy has talent,

Thomas 6, fuck me its upto this lad how good he wants to be, if you don't believe in yourself you cant believe in anything was hoping to score and fucked it twice

Baka 7, thought he did his job well

Hiwula 7, good movement and goal, can give more

Pretty much this. Baka I would give a point less and once Kelly’s influence waned we looked second best.

I must have watched a different match. First half thought we were very good second half mediocre. Between Burge and Thomas they cost us the game but over all I thought we were as good as Portsmouth and had Thomas put away his 2 clear chances we could have won it fairly easily.

Yep. We created chances. Pompey scored from their only two...one of which was a half chance. We should have won the game.

Agree almost wholeheartedly with what you say - except you missed ....."and Thomas" - had he scored either of his chances (and yes, credit for the runs and making the chances) we may well have won the game.

The thing with Burge is he hasn't learnt from his mistakes.
There's an obsession with keepers coming off their line but sometimes staying on their line at the right times is just as important, Burge just doesn't know when to.
I've stuck up for him but it's now imperative we get a new keeper though I'd imagine Stockdale isn't a realistic target.

you have to watch Baka off the ball as he pulls their defenders away allowing Hiwula & Bright more room to manouver. He probably not the best but he does well in other ways helping the team keeping pressure on their backline by running them as they try to pass it out. i did not see one decent pass to him all game to be quite honest

Enjoyed watching the game today, I thought we did well against a very good team away from home. We shouldn’t have lost that game, but we did because Portsmouth were more clinical than us. That’s why they’re 2nd and we’re 8th.

Burge, 4 - shaky all game really.
Sterling, 6 - did well on both sides of the ball
Davies, 6 - good save in the first half, looked hurt in the 2nd half to me
Hyam, 6 - reliable defender, needs to work on his set pieces in attack and defence
Mason, 5 - Lowe gave him a bit of trouble, but that’s expected of a player of Lowe’s quality
Thomas, 6 - missed two key chances, which frankly, cost us the game. But, he troubled their defence and defended pretty well. On another day we’d be marking him 10/10.
Kelly, 8 - brilliant midfield display, unlucky not to have an assist and in my opinion was the best CM on the day.
Shipley, 6 - likes what he was trying to do with some forward balls that, on another day, leads to a good goal scoring opportunity. Made some tackles and dribbled reasonably well, a couple of wayward passes.
Hiwula, 7 - outplayed his fullback, took his goal really well, and done everything you’d expect from him.
Bright, 8 - best player on the pitch and is easily Championship quality.
Bakayoko, 5 - outplayed by two v good centre halves. On a positive note, he pressed reasonably well from the front, and a couple of nice passes. That’s about it though.

That’s about as good as an away performance as you can get, if we’re clinical, we win the game and we paid for that. Pompey are a good outfit, no shame in losing to them.

Please explain how Burge got 3 points!
You could literally put any c**t in goal and they would get 3 points!!!!
My blind, deaf, arthritic mother would not of let more than 2 goals in today!!!
So by your fucked up logic, she would get 3 points! Is that right?

Burge 10 Great keeper/shot stopper
Mason 6 Reasonable game
Sterling 6 See Mason
Hyam 7 Another decent game but maybe could have done better with his chance
Davies 7 Again good alongside Hyam-right to be fed up if he wasn’t injured when substituted.
Kelly 8 A real driving force until he got whacked 2nd half and we lost a bit of momentum.
Shipley 7 Better than last time and more suited its fair to say in his preferred central role.
Thomas 7 Thought he was good on the day and they were petrified of his speed when we were breaking-just a shame he didn’t finish one of the chances but I was surprised he was taken off and I think Pompey were delighted.
Hiwula 7 Great instinctive goal-has really got better as the season has wore on.
Bright 8 Along with Kelly really makes us tick-a pleasure to watch with his ball skills/quick feet and thought of mind.
Baka 5 No impression on the game at all.

Subs N/a limited time to really make an impact/impression.

Robins 8 Can’t really complain that his football is not entertaining-if we get the off field crap sorted I think he/we all know we are in a good position next season. It’s still a big “IF” at the moment though and I guess we will find out in the next couple of days.

Fans 8 1300 or so for a TV early kick off game-fair play to all who went down.

Thomas just didn't take his chances, otherwise it was a very good display

Also thought Mason did better than suggested, struggled a bit second half, but great natural full back

Completely agree on this. Very surpirsed to see him only get 5s from some people. Thought Kelly and Bright (first half) were the star performers with Mason just behind. He had a very good game both defensively and offensively.

Agree with all of this except I'd put 'did' for 'done' in Hiwula's evaluation

Think we were watching the same game!

Mason was often left 2 on 1 in second half, no wonder he struggled.
