Wilson 6 needs to cut out the stupid passes on the edge of the box when players are tightly marked
van Ewijk 5 He is not a long throw 'expert' again coming off injured
Latibeaudiere 7 our best defender on the night if only our 'striker' put himself about as much as he did
McFadzean 5 not good last night, not up to his usual standard
Binks 6 steady but must think he was the scapegoat last night
Dasilva 5 seems to get caught in 2 minds at times and ends up losing the ball, can't remember a cross from him
Eccles 4 he is looking league 1 at best and last night it showed
Kelly 6 the better of the 2 'midfielders' covered Eccles and ran about a lot but he is 100% not the answer at this level
Palmer 2 the guy is a fancy dan but piss poor from him last night
Godden 7 I have marked him higher for his work rate and 2 goals, without him it would have been NIL goals
Wright 1 absolutely fucking shocking no wonder the yanks have dropped him from their squad

Sakamoto 7 caused them problems certainly needs to be fitted into our lacklustre team somewhere BUT not defence
Ayari 6 definitely looks a better prospect in midfield than our current 2
Allen 6 Never really been a fan of Allen but last night after watching our midfield he looked excellent moving the ball quickly much much much much better than Eccles
Simms 6 Needs to be given some love because the useless yank is shite
Kitching 5 need to see more of him because last night we looked dreadful at the back at times gifting goals

Overall we didn't look like scoring but thanks to Goddens goals from almost nowhere it kept us in a contest we shouldn't have been in, defenders cannot keep switching off and giving goals away and is starting to become a problem, we are sliding down the league and its too early to panic but must stop the slide before everyones confidence is as shit as our record signings!

I actually thought Eccles looked better when Kelly went off and we were losing, he seemed to at least be trying to get on the ball and make things happen. Before that he was anonymous.

Saka needs game time but not at RWB, he needs to start at 10. Either alongside Ayari or with Ayari playing CM alongside Eccles or Kelly, it’s attacking but we look so blunt offensively it’s embarrassing.

I like Palmer but maybe him now being our ‘only creative player’ has gone to his head post Gyokeres and Hamer - such a lack of effort last night and when on the ball his decision making and implementation were horrendous.

Simms looked better when he came on - he should start next game. Let Wright be an £11m super sub against tiring defenders - at least we might see him do something positive at that point.

Palmer only looked decent because the Iikes of Hamer and Allen did all the running and Sheaf was there to cover

Palmer seems to have taken up walking football at the age of 27 - if that’s what he wants to do retire and join a local team

Team has absolutely no confidence we are lost without sheaf and the the 2 departures

we don’t know our best team squad is unbalanced and effort from some of players isn’t good enough

Eccles and Kelly is league 1 midfield but we bought another centre back, stupid

Be careful. Don't forget the forum rule: thou shalt not criticise anyone who is, "one of our own".

Eccles needs dropping. He's not good enough and never has been. Same with Kelly.

Both should only be used in case of emergency.

I like Kasey, but am losing patience in him.

Andy Turner

KASEY PALMER: 6

A lively, if somewhat frustrated, return to the starting line-up from City’s most creative outlet. Worked hard throughout and almost scored a second equaliser when his powerful shot was brilliantly pushed wide by the keeper

Only MVE (6.5) and Godden (7.5) scored higher. Wright was also a 6

MvE was never a 7 tonight ,he's been recruited as an attacking wing back . Tonight he was too timid and was too reluctant to take his man on . Don't think he had a bad game but he's been bought as a game changer

Is that down to MvE or the coaching staff ?

Robins is a cautious manager.

We are persisting with 5 at the back despite the fact we look wide open at the back, over ran in midfield and anonymous up front.

It’s totally understandable because the system has served us well for many seasons but sometimes you have to be prepared to try something new.

Despite the talk of Palmer, Ayari etc being creative Tats is the only player who can beat a man and get a cross in. He rarely starts and his appearances are limited to cameos. Why ? Partly I think because he’s too lightweight to play as a Wing back and partly because Robins prefers Palmers physical attributes …. However Palmer wins nothing in the air, very few 50/50’s, and his tricks are those frustrating ones where they look ok but rarely result in him beating his man.

Bring him back in January with Gyokeres on loan, sign Hyam from Blackburn, loan Osti back from Italy and the whole gang can reunite

Can’t understand some people saying godden did nothing just scored 2 goals ? That’s what he’s paid to do and he’s the best goal scorer at the club, any older fans will remember Jimmy greaves he never did much but scored goals , natural goal scores are rare if godden gets injured where will our goals come from ?

Usually in the cold light of the next day following a defeat you realise we were not as bad as you thought at the time. Cardiff was an exception and was like Rotherham a couple of seasons ago. The fact we lost by only one goal covers up a host of problems. We have three wing backs (if you include Saka) who are very good footballers but are small and not great in the air. This gives the opposition a get out for their goalie to clear down the flanks. Don't think we conceded many headers last year (Wrexham apart) but they seem to be flying in this season. The back three are changing too much and that is leaving us all over the place at times. The loss of Sheaf is a terrible blow and we have to find a way to stop the goals going in. Playing two strikers is fine if they are creating chances and scoring but they are not (Godden aside) so we need more in midfield. Palmer is still on the beach in Jamaica and had a great chance to score but fluffed it with a soft shot. Our midfield two Eccles and Kelly are knackered after 75 minutes and need help. Ayo is a class footballer who will go onto great things sadly not with us. I get the we want our own players theory, but a couple more loans of the quality of last season would have helped and not left us short in midfield. I think MR will spring some surprises on Monday possibly with players or formation. Individually, our players are good, collectively they are not doing it. We need to play to the conditions. If there is a force 10 gale swing in some crosses like Saka did near the end.

Does anyone actually pay any attention to what Turner says or thinks anymore? Summed him up last night when he posted a picture of “here they are the magnificent Sky Blue Army” with a picture of us at Swansea!
